Mr. Golub was our language arts (LA) teacher in from grade seven through grade eight.

My first memory of Mr. G was in grade seven. Know one really knew who he was or what he was in our class room for. The first thing Mr. G said to me was "what are you doing?" Alex and I where in the computer lab looking up hamsters. Alex and me were thinking we could make money by buying, breeding and then selling hamsters. Wasn't the smartest idea but oh well. When Mrs. Monson had left to have her baby Mr. Golub made us play a game called the "um" game. The purpose of the game was to get us to be able to talk about a subject for a certin amount of time without saying "um". We weren't that good at it. When it was finally my turn he told me to talk about hamsters. I think I froze in about 5 seconds. Now that I think about it, it was pretty funny but I felt like an idiot.

The next big memory I can rember would be when Mr. Golub wanted to teach us a fancy way or writing. Caligraphy. To learn how to do caligraphy we need a special kind of pen. Little did we know this would be our first assignment. Mr golub had a way with making you do work without you knowing that you are doing it untill you get the mark back. In which case if you did bad he would let you do it again. Anyways we had to write a letter to our parents explaining that we need about $3.00 for a pen. This was when we learned how to write a proper letter.

The next big thing that Mr. Golub did was the trip to Morden. This was also a teaching tool. We had to write letter after letter trying to find out how this would work. He also told us about rock polshing and fossials. This was a fun idea becuase we rented had rented a grey hound bus. When we finaly reached the musium we took a tour and bought some lunch at the Mcdonalds that was in the building! After all of this we met the tour guide and we started off. When we were driving to the dig site the bus stopped and we got out not really knowing why but it was a small leason yet again. There were these crystle like things made from water deposites. We were allowed to take one home with us. So of coarse I did. We finally got to the dig site and we started to dig just like the arceologists. The only person who found anything was Garret. He found a fossil of a neck bone.
