Baked French Toast Casserole

12 eggs
1 cup milk (or for a richer casserole, use half and half)
12-15 slices bread
1/2 tsp. vanilla
1/2 tsp. nutmeg
1/2 tsp cinnamon

Optional: You could add some chopped pecans or chopped apple to this dish, if desired.

Heat oven to 350'f. Spray bottom and sides of a 13x9 inch baking dish. Set aside.
Cut bread up into chunks & put into baking dish. I did 2 cuts lengthwise and 2 cuts crosswise with mine, and ended up with just the right size. The main thing is to have enough to fill up your baking dish.
Beat eggs and milk together(you can add more milk, if desired. Add 1/2 tsp of nutmeg and 1/2 tsp of cinnamon to mixture, then 1/2 tsp of vanilla. Beat together and then pour evenly over bread chunks; making sure that they all get egg mixture on them.
Bake uncovered for about 30 minutes or until lightly browned. Servre warm with maple syrup. Enjoy!
