Spirit of the Moment, the brain child of Noel McAuliffe and Tad Lusk, is a jazz quartet comprised of some of the best young jazz musicians in Colorado. Hailing from the same High School, saxophonist Noel McAuliffe and drummer Colin Onstat have been playing together for years. Noel McAuliffe and Guitarist Tad Lusk had never met until being paired up as roomates the Mile High Jazz Camp. The two became fast friends. They also played in jam sessions together and a rich musical chemistry was very apparent.
Leader Noel McAuliffe has been playing with professional groups since the tender age of 15. A naturally gifted improviser, Noel has recently started to show the talent that sets him apart from his peers. Perhaps the best kept secret in the group, much less the Denver Area, is gifted Guitarist Tad Lusk. Tad has been studying music at the Universtiy of Southern California. Tad, an intelligent and gifted soloist is poised to show what he has learned, and what makes him so gifted. Ryan, a very classicaly schooled bassist, who also posses jazz skills...blah blah blah blah. Drummer Colin has always had a great sense of time and great chops, but Colin has also begun to show a high level of musicianship. Spirit of the Moment plays many original tunes written by Noel McAuliffe, but the group plays many standard jazz tunes as well.
