| IAN CHRISTENSEN - The Great Dane Reeds - Clarinet, Soprano and Alto Saxaphone Ian began his musical career at the age of 8 years playing the fife in a school band. At 14 years he graduated to the clarinet, and at 15 years took up the saxophone. Ian has played various styles of music, including rock, jazz and country and western. After moving to Gippsland, and an 8 year break from the music scene, Ian and a friend talked each other into joining the West Gippsland Concert Orchestra, and they just happened to come across Dick Winter playing jazz in the Criterion Hotel in Trafalgar. From then Ian began playing seriously again joining Riff Raff Jazz Band, Sophisticated Swing, and Valley Jazz. As well as the New Orleans Wonderdogs, Ian also plays with the Riviera Jazz Band and Rampart Street Jazz Band. |
