History has told us that in the Age Of Heroes, Athenae and Posiedon argued for the patronage of Seriphos. Yet things did not go as smoothly as they did for the patronage contest of Athens. There was to be a vote amongst the gods and lots were cast. Where as Athenae recieced all the votes of the earthly gods, Posiedon recieved all the votes of the water and oceanic gods. The drawing was equal and his lord Zeus was the deciding factor. Zeus decreed that Seriphos would be of equal patronage. Where the voting took place would be where the acropolis would rise up by the hands of mighty Posiedon as well as the sacred wells that flow within it. The temple was built to honor Athenae. And the Geat Altar in the center are to all the gods, be they heavenly, earthly, or of the nextlife.

Here, year after year, the celebrations to Athenae and Posiedon are held. The acropolis is not realy open to everyone to just walk into. Yet visitors are welcome to explore and take in its marvels.

In the TEMPLE TO ATHENAE one can see the glory that is Seriphos, the great statue of Athenae hereself. Here the priests will teach you all about the Hellenic gods, their origin, and the holidays and rituals that we observe.

Then there is THE ALTAR OF THE GODS, located in the garden of the acropolis. This is the Acropolis' most holy site. Here the citizens of long before my time erected a great altar to all the gods. Here one can learn from the high priestess, the great prayer, dedicated to all the gods and/or leave a prayer of offering to the gods.
