VICTORIAN TIMES

Welcome to Victorian Times, a Role Playing Game, Chronicle pitting "The Prince of Vampires, Count Dracula, and his minions; against "Buffy The Vampire Slayer," and her companions; in an interesting to say the least crossover.

Buffy's Prophecy Dream further complicates things; can the call for a new slayer reach even through time.

The players have been zapped back in time to Victorian London, by one of Willow spells that was interupted by the Special Ops Boys of the 'Iniative'. They are not only back in the past, but possibily an alternate history or timeline as well. Bram Stoker wrote his novel DRACULA in 1897, the story took place in 1890. An interesting sideline is Jack The Ripper. He was active during 1888 and was never caught. The adventurers have several problems to solve, first what year have they arrived at and how can they get back, second in this reality Count Dracula is not just a character in a novel but an actual threat, third do they try to defeat him on their own or get Profesor Van Helsing to accept their help
Along with all of these problems are other annoying details. Women's equality and the vote are a long way off. A proper young lady doesn't go out alone in the middle of the night. Martial arts are very uncommon to say the least, plus try them in an ankle length dress, corset, and petticoats. Wicca spells and werewolves might take some explaining; while rarely enforced England still has witchcraft laws on the books.

Dracula has a few new wrinkles to iron out as well. He has arrived in London by ship along the Thames. He has many coffins, each with soil from his native land, that he needs to hide around London to allow him safe refuge.

Now there are several more Vampires in the starting line-up. Angel wasn't cursed until 1898, how has he been effected by the spell, Drusilla became a Vampire in 1860, Spike 1873, and we might see Darla who made Angel a Vampire in the 1753 show up as well. Now will they work with Dracula or on their own. Dracula while admittedly evil. He has the grace and manners of an old school aristocrat. His personal magnitism and prescence make him quite the Lady's Man. Remember he will only feed from beautiful young women. He doesn't want a lot of press or attention. Granted this era depends on gossip and newspapers but they do get the word out. Activities such as Angelous and Spike engaged in are far to brutal and likely to bring notoriety. Still if the Slayer/Hunters are searching for them instead of him; the Count can roam London freely, using them as a diversion.

Remember Count Dracula has many powers and abilities beyond that of Vampires from Buffy's Realty. He is much older and wiser. He can shapeshift into a wolf, bat or mist. Still he can only cross Thames or any other running water at Noon or Midnight.

Victorian London presents many challenges in itself. Social standing ettiquette, and observing the proprieties were important. It is a quite different time socially and many other ways as well. Women are escorted, chaperoned and protected. There is a definite class system separated not only by money but status as well. A down an out noble is still accorded a certain degree of respect. The Watcher's Council and Scotland Yard can both help or hinder. Into each Generation is born a Slayer...Where is the Slayer of this era and how will she interact with the group. This is also the London of 221 Baker Street and the greatest detective of all time Sherlock Homes.
All in All a lot to do and an uncertain amount of time to do it in...
