LUNAEA WEATHERSTONE, COLLAGE ARTIST

Lunaea Weatherstone
by MaryScarlett Amaris

Lunaea Bridarragh Weatherstone, Priestess of Brigid of the Crossroads, has served the Goddess Community as a matrix of wisdom, lore, information, energy, and devotion for nearly twenty years. She has brought together thousands and thousands of women and spiritual seekers around the world. Her vision of community and connection first came to fruition in the pages of SageWoman magazine as its founding mother and editrix. In 1993, the Wiccan/Pagan Press Alliance, polling the readership of more than 200 Pagan periodicals, awarded Lunaea the Readers' Choice Pentacle Award for "Favorite Editor." She has written extensively on magic, tarot, the Goddess, and living the life spiritual; most recently her wisdom has graced the pages of SageWoman – no longer editrix, she is still a mainstay, and a popular favorite with readers – in "Heart and Home: Everyday Enchantments" (being woven into a book) and "Two of Air: Visions of Transformation." She is also the editor of the SageWoman Cauldron and Soul Stirrings: the SageWoman Cookbook, and her beautiful collage art was featured in the SageWoman 1998-1999 calendars.

Lunaea's path of study and devotion have led her to work with such teachers as Shekhinah Mountainwater, Vicki Noble, and Jade, but it is her hard work as solitary seeker, traveling deep within her heart and mind that has led her to her most important discoveries, those she shares with her readers and the seekers of the Ninth Wave Path. Joseph Campbell, Rumer Godden, Madeleine L'Engle, Ram Dass, Thomas Merton, Caitlin Matthews, and Rumi are among her diverse library of teachers, and it is this deep, eclectic reservoir, this deep well that makes her such a knowledgeable guide, a true sage woman.

In addition to her writing and study, Lunaea has proven herself a powerful ritualist, and her Southern California sisters in the Long Beach Womanspirit community have been blessed by her visions of Celtica, Faeryland, and Hecate's Crossroads, not to mention the Magic of the Winter Queen. All of her imagination and knowledge are brought to bear in ritual space...and the results have been LBWS's most memorable rituals to date. In a continuation of her devotion to the Goddess of Creativity, Brigid, Lunaea has turned her imagination and inspiration to visual art, creating ritual and magic in beautiful collage images and jewelry. Her Goddess rosaries are instruments of rare beauty and power (I have at least five that I swear by!).

But by far, it is Lunaea's work as collage artist that is a testament to the power of the Goddess within. She has created the Full Moon Dreams Tarot – inspired and magical cards, each made from an original collage. This endeavor was a true labor of love and devotion. Indeed, this deck is unlike any other – the images take you deep within the heart and the psyche...indescribable! She is a gifted reader of the tarot, and her Full Moon Dreams Tarot is available for you to see, and get a mini-reading, on this web site. Lunaea Weatherstone has created a beautiful Temple to the Goddess on the Web – her vision of interconnected spiritual women expanded and deepened.

She has been visited by Goddess-seekers from around the world, and the response to her site demonstrates Lunaea's power as a matrix of connection and information, as well as her deep and true instincts about what touches the heart. On Spring Equinox 1999, Lunaea was ordained as Priestess of Brigid in the Temple of Isis and Fellowship of Isis. This affirming of her dedication adds another dimension of connection and web-weaving to her path of service. She serves as Priestess of the Forge of Brigid of the Crossroads, Na Ceárta Brigid na Crosaire, in Santa Cruz, California. The Ninth Wave Apprenticeship in Goddess Magic is Lunaea's offering to her sisters. She has worlds of knowledge and wisdom to offer.
