POETRY IN MOTION GUILD

My name is Baby Price, and I am a memfur of the Poetry in Motion Guild of CLAW. This is my picfur.

I also have a membership card that I would love to show miew. Here it is.

I haf been writing poetry as long as I can rememfur; since I was a little kit. It just pours out of me and all of a sudden a poem appears. Usually I hear a beat inside my head, a meter of sorts, that gives me a rhythm to put the words to. I consider myself furry lucky.

In the 1950's and early to mid 1960's, the "Beat Generation" added a new angst to poetry. There were poets like Allen Ginsberg and Lawrence Ferlingetti, and songwriter/poets like Bob Dylan, who opened up the doors to a new appreciation of different kinds of poetry. Their poetry is wonderfural.

I look forward to be doing a lot of writing with the Guild, as well as what I always do on my own, and hope to learn more about my craft in the future.

Here is the poem I wrote for June.

The Marathon Runner

He's a runner

he shoots on by the spectators
shining body and sweating brow
legs never stopping
joints sometimes popping
to be the best
the fastest somehow
he must keep going and never think
that there's a reason to stop
dedication and determination
and if he wins the race
he'll drop
but not before then
oh no my friends
not until that final mile
he runs right to
that ribbon and through it
then he can collapse and wear a smile

he's a runner

I just received my first level award, it already is a Level 2 award. Here it is.

I just received my new Level 3 award. I am so proud.

This is the Poetry Society Book.

This is my latest poem I wrote about the 4th of July. It's called "Watching the Fire Works".

The fireworks
I love them so
exploding stars
whose color fly
throughout
around
and all about
the darkened evening sky

reds and golds and yellows too
greens and pinks and cyan blue
they make me smile
just like a child
come sit with me
while I show them to you

can you see them
my old friend
brightening the dark of night
we'll sit so close
and share this time
it never again
may feel so right

The fireworks
I love them so
exploding stars
whose color fly
throughout
around
and all about
the darkened evening sky

I just received my Fourth Level Award. I am so furry proud. Here it is!
