POETRY FOR THE UNBORN SOUL

STRANGE SONG

Sometimes
when I'm alone
I feel the pain
I felt inside
when I was just a child
when I'm alone
I feel the pain

When I was just a child
people laughed at me and said
you're different from the rest
you're not the same
I felt the pain

They said you sing
your song is different from the rest
your song is strange
it's not the same
you sing of things
we do not know
we cannnot understand
you're not the same
I felt the pain

I sing your songs
I see the pain remaining
cloked behind your eyes
we are the same
I share your pain
when you were just a child
you bottled everything inside
give me your pain
we are the same

Together we make music
we both know and understand
we are but one
we are the same
we share the music
crying deep within our hearts
we are the same
there's no more pain

THE PHOENIX

the parapalegic poet
ran westward towards the sun
in incandescent ardor
never tired

the regent
the unicorn
unblemished by the sight
drank his afternoon tea
and retired

the nestlings ventured
to this new world of light
the sea rose in glory
at their burst into flight
and the princess
the phoenix
eternal
the rose
triumphed in ecstasy
in mans' ashes
in mans' fire

TO ALBERT

sensation
to deviation
of a time so worthy
of a time so willing
an only salvation
striving for a thought
emotional sublimation
