"Belonging" by Nancy and Ron Rockey with Kay Kuzma

Ron grew up hopelessly ensnared in the sticky spider's web of emotional and physical abuse. Nancy was a child trapped in a prison of worthlessness and rejection. But underneath the pain, these were not passive victims. They were survivors. In their lifelong search for truth and emotional healing, Drs. Nancy and Ron Rockey confronted their greatest fears from the past and discovered the courage to break free of the chaos and suffering they had endured. Now one of the foremost Christian couples working in the area of recovery share their amazingly effective techniques for overcoming abuse and rejection. Based on biblical principles, "Belonging" will set you on the road to unearthing the source of your personal traumas, which in turn will lead you to a deeper understanding of your own needs and God's ultimate healing.

This book has changed my life tremendously and helped me to begin learning how to fill my "empty spaces" in my life with the Lord's love for me. A must read for everyone.

"Pure Desire" by Ted Roberts

Although this book was written specifically for Pastors who have experienced sexual addiction or work with men who do, I found it extremely helpful in understanding my husband and his addictions. It was a very easy reading book on a deep subject. Not a lot of technical terms, but written on the level that most any one can understand and enjoy reading. Every church leader needs a copy of this book. Is Dr. Ted Roberts qualified to write on this subject? Yes, he tells his story of his addiction and his triumph with God's power.

"An Affair of the Mind" by Laurie Hall

Compelling and poignant. This book tells the story of one woman's struggle to protect herself and her children from the devastating effects of pornography. With both candor and sensitivity, Laurie Hall relives the nightmare that nearly destroyed her family, warning others of porn's seductive, addictive nature. She opens her heart and bares her soul, imparting keen insights and comfort. And she shares the hard lessons God taught her - among them, the virtues of patience, trust, and perseverance.

You will identify with many of the things in this book even if your husband is not into pornography, but stuck in the belief that he has to have more than one wife to keep him from breaking the 7th commandment. Laurie's book is very sensitive and caring, yet very real.

"Women Who Love Sex Addicts" by Douglas Weiss & Dianne DeBusk

This book deals with sexual co-addiction, a real and complicated issue that affects millions of women today. As partners of sex addicts, there has been little or no effective emotional support for these women. Intense shame and secrecy about their partners' behavior has kept them isolated from much deserved information and help. This book explores the dynamics of sexual co-addicition, and offers sincere support, encouragement, and hope to women whose partners suffer from any number of sexually compulsive behaviors.

Have you been afraid to admit, even to yourself, that you are worried about your husband's sexual behavior?

Does it seem as if you can never be enough for him?

Are you worried that your best won't be good enough to keep him from straying?

Do you feel sad, empty or angry after sexual encounters with your partner?

Is it difficult for you to say no to sexual advances, even when you desperately want to?

Are you a survivor of childhood sexual abuse?

If you have answered yes to any of these questions, this book is a must read for you.

"Boundaries" by Dr. Henry Cloud & Dr. John Townsend

Having clear boundaries is essential to a healthy, balanced lifestyle. A boundary is a personal property line that marks those things for which we are responsible. In other words, boundaries define who we are and who we are not. Often, Christians focus so much on being loving and unselfish that they forget their own limits and limitations.

This book will help you to know: When to say YES & when to say NO to take control of your life.

"Polygamy in the Bible" by Ronald A. G. du Preez

This book is a theological dissertation on the subject of Polygamy in the Bible and how it relates to us today. What does the Bible teach about marriage, and polygamy in particular? Is there evidence that points the Christian and the Christian church to the type of marriage - monogamy or polygamy - that God ordained and, therefore, sanctioned? Case studies on Biblical characters such as: Lamech, Abraham, Jacob, Esau, Moses, Gideon, Elkanah, David, Solomon, and Joash. Worded somewhat in technical terms, yet interesting and well done.
