Q. A.T., you’re getting real good at this! You got Estella right, and also that he wouldn’t propose.
A. Gee, thanks Wendy! As I said last week, it was more of a gut feeling, this time around, than anything else. At least I am grateful Bob was true to himself and, not only did he not propose, but also refrained from telling Estella he was in love with her, which happens to be the case.
In my opinion he still has many unresolved emotional issues he needs to address, before making that type of commitment.
Q. Could you clarify this last statement?
A. What I am going to say is pure speculation, on my part, but I believe Bob first needs to find closure regarding his divorce, and sort out his feelings for his ex-wife. He is also at a stage where he still feels hurt, vulnerable and perhaps a little afraid to invest his feelings with someone new. I also feel Bob needs to evaluate the reason, or reasons, for his apparent intimacy problems within his relationships. I believe he needs to address this last issue before embarking on any new relationship, or else it could end being a repetition of what transpired within his marriage.
Finally, I have the feeling there may be other unresolved issues Bob would need to sort out before beginning to contemplate any long-term plans with Estella.
Q. Would you care to elaborate on this interesting last statement?
A. I'll let this one ride, time will tell.
Q. Talk to me about Estella.
A. I like Estella, and sensed she was one of Bob’s favorites from the onset. I can not help feeling bad for her though, because I believe she will not end up being happy in her relationship with Bob. Estella needs someone who will love her unconditionally, and will share his life with her. She is not the type of woman who enjoys staying home on the weekends while her husband is enjoying himself in the company of his buddies. Bob also appears to be someone who enjoys socializing in a group setting, and this lifestyle would possibly take a toll on his relationship with Estella. She is a smart lady and will be able to tell if Bob ever develops the type of feelings she needs in a relationship. Even though I have strong reservations their relationship will be long-lived, I wish both the best of luck.
Q. How did you know Bob’s mom would like her over Kelly Joe?
A. From what little we saw of her, I sensed Bob’s mother personality would identify better with Estella than with Kelly Joe. She probably sensed Estella was more mature than Kelly, and would be the type of woman she feels Bob needs.
Q. What about Kelly Joe? Good final words: “This sucks!” Beats anything else anyone has said so far!
Q. Kelly Joe did a good job throughout the series. Even though she was convinced she was the right one for Bob, I honestly do not believe this to be a fact. She is still very young, and possibly her goals and aspirations, ten years from now, will be totally different than they are today. Bob’s mother has good intuition, and probably sensed it. That may be one of the reasons why she was not too impressed with the idea of Kelly Joe being Bob’s choice.
Q. What is your opinion of the way she accepted the rejection?
A. I would venture to say she felt more anger than sadness by Bob’s rejection. Her facial expressions and body language, while Bob was talking with her, were indicative of someone who felt betrayed. There was one moment there where I honestly felt she was going to give Bob a right hook. Seriously now, her words and attitude, after learning she was not the one, were a little disappointing, in my opinion. I always thought she was going to be humble and take the bad news with a little more grace.
Q. There are rumors she may be the next Bachelorette. Do you believe Kelly Joe would do a good job?
A. I honestly have mixed feelings on this. Her high energy and sense of humor would possibly attract the producer’s attention, but I feel the role should be given to someone who is less flashy and actually ready to take the role more seriously. In my opinion, if ABC is going to continue recycling past contestants, there are several others who would do a better job and be better prepared to possibly become engaged, get married, and start a family in the near future. Mary, for example, is one that comes to mind.
Q. What about Tina fab.?
A. I believe Tina could do a good job, especially if she doesn’t play hard to get and makes a point of not being so sarcastic.
