The Bachelor V 05/06/04

QYou had the feeling Trish would be leaving soon.
A. Tonight was very predictable, and I will explain to you why. I believe Jesse ended this week feeling comfortable with the thought of sending two women home. One was Mandy, the other Trish. I personally feel poor Jesse is saturated with Mandy's pageantry obsession, and will send the ex-beauty queen home soon, but she has to wait for now. Trish had to go home this week to be able to come back as "The Stalker" during the fantasy dates and before the Women Tell All Special airs. This was the only way “Stalker Trish” could catch up to Jessie in an episode where she could invite him to her version of the “all night pleasureathon”.
Q. I know you believe it is all staged.
A. I can not believe any Bachelorette that was sent home is able to return, on her own, to one of the locations where Jesse is filming, penetrate security, walk past the director and the production crew, and offer Jesse her own version of a "wild and crazy overnight date". The mere thought of this actually happening, without the full blessing of the production staff, is laughable to say the least. One thing I must say for "Witchy Trish"; she has kept this bachelor series interesting. Without her, I'm afraid Jesse would have put some of us to sleep by now.
Q. Talk to me about Mandy.
A. I may be wrong, since this show's editing has kept everyone's personalities in the dark, but I cringed when I heard Mandy and her parents saying the words "pageant winner" and "NFL wife". What happened to simply enjoying each other's company, while trying to learn the other person's dreams and aspirations? I just hope it was all trick editing, or I would advise Jesse to run for the nearest hills.
Q. Tara's date was different, I would say. What are her chances?
A. Tara is keeping me in suspense. She appears to be a certain way, and I sometimes get the notion the editors are keeping something back from us, in reference to her, and she is not as aloof with Jesse as she seems. I must confess that was my favorite date! It isn't everyday you meet your possible future father in law as he walks out of his truck carrying an AR-15. By the way, that wasn't an M-16, like Jesse called it, but the civilian version made by Colt and renamed AR-15. Nothing like shooting up several hundred rounds before sitting down and enjoying a quiet conversation, I loved it!
I liked her father a little more before he said anything; I just can't warm up to someone who instills in his daughter's mind "love is not real, and is only for the movies" and "all guys are dirt bags". No wonder the poor woman has trouble opening up her feelings to men! I would not be surprised if her dad used men's photos as targets while he was teaching his "little girl" how to shoot.
I'd love to see what type of relationship "Machinegun Craig" has with Tara's mom.
Q. Finally, we get down to Jessica B.
A. Last, but not least, is Jessica B. I believe there might be something between them; I just can't place a finger on it. Both seem to enjoy each other's company, but she appears to be the aggressive one while kissing Jesse. Honestly, I do not see many sparks here, but that may just be me going blind, or Jesse taking too long to warm up and get going. I personally believe Jessica is not ready for any type of commitment or serious relationship. One thing is to attend law school, another quite different is to become an attorney and successfully pass the Bar Exam. Her immediate plans for the future would most likely end up hampered if she becomes Jesse's chosen one.
Q. So, what's going to happen next week?
A. Don't know for certain; "Witchy Trish" will come back to give Jesse her overnight ultimatum. ABC will stretch her "return" out throughout the one-hour episode, Jesse will appear to be really struggling with his decision and will possibly send her packing for good in the end. I just hope ABC does not copy "Joe Millionaire II" by having a past contestant return to the show and end up being the main character's final choice. That would be very disappointing.
