 Remembering To Be Thankful

In embarrassment, I admit it. I have grumbled frequently throughout my life. Grumbled about stresses, frustrations, weariness, and pain. Now that I'm older, I experience a little pain every single day. And I have stopped to think how little I really should have complained years ago. It is so easy for me to feel sorry for myself, having to buy and take expensive medication for my health problems. Again and again, I find myself worrying about my future health. But now, that shames me in front of God. So I remind myself often, to be grateful for my body, and mind. To be grateful for the healthy years I have been given, and to praise God in advance for all the time ahead of me, healthy or not. And for all the years I will still be able to do something for Him, I lift my heart to my Heavenly Father, and thank Him.

* He lifted me out of the slimy pit, out of the mud and mire; he set my feet on a rock and gave me a firm place to stand. He put a new song in my mouth, a hymn of praise to our God. Many will see ... and put their trust in the Lord. Blessed is the man who makes the Lord his trust. Psalm 40:2,3a,4a
