Isidoro Dayao Torres

  • Born: April 10, 1866
  • Died: December 5, 1928
  • Birthplace: Malolos, Bulacan (Matimbo)
  • known as "Matang-Lawin"
  • one of the first Bulaquenos to join the Katipunan
  • Obtained AB degree from UST
  • became a cabeza de barangay, delegado munisipal of Bulacan
  • gathered many revolutionists in Masukol and was victorious in his battles against the Spaniards
  • was suspected the he was plotting to kill a priest at the age of 16
  • discovered the site of Biak-na-bato on January 4, 1897 when the Katipunan retreated from the church of San Rafael
  • was military governor when the Republic was established there
  • under-secretary of war when General Antonio Luna died
  • one of the lkast to surrender to America in 1900
  • Superior Chief of Bulakan with Judicial Military Power

 Gregorio del Pilar (1875-1899)

  • "Goyo"
  • born in the barrio of San Jose, of the municipality of Bulacan, Province of Bulacan in November, 1875
  • his parents were Fernando H. del Pilar, brother of the meritorious Don Marcelo, and Felipa Sempio
  • started working for the reform when he was still a boy
  • took Plaridel's inflammatory pamphlets and inserted them between the covers of the friars counter-propaganda handouts.
  • tried to join the Katipunan when he was 17 but Bonifacio didn't allow because he was too young
  • graduated with the degree of Bachelor of Arts in the College of Santo Tomas at 21
  • joined the Katipunan immediately when the revolution against Spain started
  • staged in Paombong, Bulacan the famous assault on the barracks of cazadores in the town convent on August 31, 1897
  • appointed as one of the Commissioners of the Philippine Government to confer with the Schurman Commission
  • assigned by General Emilio Aguinaldo as chief of the revolutionary government at Bulacan
  • killed at the Battle of Tirad Pass on December 2, 1899 at the age of 24
