it's simple...at this point in human's evolution, our minds have limits. Meaning that our minds have abstract boundaries and most humans can't understand concepts outside of these boundaries. At this point we cannot understand the ideas of God and the Devil as they actually are...therefore, we create God and the Devil in our image and give them the limits that we possess because we cannot understand them in any other terms...
