Friday night, we as drove through the streets of our community praying, everywhere, candles were lit, and flags and banners flying, in memorial. When we got home, and while praying regarding the NY tragegy with the Twin Towers on friday evening, hoping against hope, that some survivors would still be found; God gave me this verse from the Prophet Habakkuk's tephillah in Habakkuk 3:7
"And the curtains of the land of Midian did tremble."
SONGS THAT SPEAK:
The inscription of the Prophet Habakkuk's tephillah or song-prayer, in Habakkuk 3:1; is "Upon Shigionoth," which comes from the root word SHIGGAION, or SHAGAH; meaning "to wander."
It's a particular type of psalm, referred to as a "dithyrambic ode," because of it's rambling style.
I've heard people critize this type of dithyrambic prophetic manifestation because of it's meandering style. Psalm 7 is another example of this type of poem. It was written during David's "wanderings," when he was forced to hide himself because of the fury of Saul.
Habakkuk said: "The vision will speak in the end," as all true words from God do.
Where there is war declared, there will also be a diaspora, or scattered people. War was declared on America by the spirit of Islam, and there has been a people who have suffered great loss.
We must get into the Spirit of prayer, and allow God to sing His "tephillah" for the nations, through us at this time. For from this "song of the Lord," will come forth revelation from the throne of God. From the song-prayers, will come "the comfort" of God's Holy Spirit.
The second verse God gave me with regard to this is the fact that God is declaring warfare on those spirit beings behind this tragedy. Here is the word of the Lord I received on friday, Sept. 14, 2001:
"I will punish the host of the high ones on high, and the kings of the earth upon the earth." (Isaiah 24:21)And with great mercy, God will regather...The third verse God gave me is found in Isaiah 18:2, where we read:
"Go ye swift messengers, to a nation scattered and peeled...to a people terrible from the beginning, hitherto, a nation meted out and trodden down, whose land the rivers have spoiled."
There is something churning...There is a senseof urgency. There are things I will not speak of now. If I could only tell you one thing, for time's sake; it would be this message. Please read it in it's entirety. We love you.
HE STOOD AND MEASURED THE EARTH:
The picture in Habakkuk 3, is of God drawing near, and taking His stand and stationing Himself as a warlike hero. This "standing" of God throws the nations into trembling. Midian here is mentioned as those inhabitants of the Arabian coast of the Red Sea. The Midianites originate with Midian, who was the son of Abraham through his concubine Keturah. Moses on fleeing from Egypt, sojourned in the land of Midian, where he married the daughter of Jethro, a priest of Midian. (Ex. 2:15-21)
THE CLARION MESSAGE OF JAEL:
The Kenites in the time of the Prophetess Deborah and Jael, appear to have been a branch of Midian. Jael, a woman who lived in Deborah's day, was married to a Kenite. This story gives a clear word with regard to not accomodating terrorists and terrorism. The situation was so serious at this time of history that according to Deborah's prophecy, "war was in the gates, and the highways were unoccuppied and travelers were forced to take the roads less traveled. (Judges 5:7-8)
Jael was an Israelite, whose marriage brought her into association with the Kenites. (Judges 4:17) When Sisera, the fugitive enemy general sought refuge in her tent, she did not compromise. In Jael, we see a type or symbol of the church, the body of Christ. The integrity of the woman Jael, brought forth an inspired song of praise from Deborah the Prophetess:
"Blessed above women shall Jael, the wife of Heber the Kenite be, blessed shall she be above women in the tent. He asked for water and she gave him milk; she brought forth butter in a lordly dish. She put her hand to the nail, and her right hand to the workman's hammer...And with the hammer, she smote Sisera; she smote off his head, when she had pierced and stricken through his temples. At her feet he bowed, he fell, he lay down: at her feet he bowed, he fell: where he bowed, there he fell down dead. (Judges 5:24-27)
Let's recount the 8 brave faith filled actions of Jael:
1) She met Sisera in his flight. (Judges 4:18) 2) She invited him into her tent. 3) She gave him a hospitable meal consisting of milk and butter. (Judges 4:19, 20) 4) She assured him that no man would discover him there. (Judges 4:18-20) 5) Jael covered Sisera with a mantle. (Judges 4:18, 20) 6) She pounded a tent peg into his head as he slept. (Judges 4:21, 5:26) 7) She cut off his head. (Judges 5:26) 8) Jael reported Sisera's death to Barak. (Judges 4:22)
Thou went forth for the salvation of thy people..." (Habakkuk 3:13)
Thou woundest the head of the house of the wicked, by discovering the foundation, unto the neck. (Habakkuk 3:13)
In Revelation 13:3, we read:
"And I saw one of His heads, as it were wounded to death." There are seven heads spoken of in chapter 12:3, 13:1; and Jesus Christ was born in the time of the sixth head, which was Rome. But when Jesus Christ went to the cross, to pay the redemption price, He did not strike at one of these seven. Rather, He went for the serpent through whom death and terrorism came, the devil, who is called Satan. We read this, concerning the atonement:
"And having spolied principalities and powers, He made a show of them openly." (Colossians 2:15)
Look at Rev. 13:14:
"..."The beast, which had the wound by the sword and did live." This is speaking of one of these 7 Heads of the dragon, receiving a wound with the sword. This has to speak of the 7th Head, which is here currently.
The sword whichdels the death blow, is the Sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God." (Ephesians 6:17, Hebrews 4:12)
And it's wielded by the hand of "the manchild," spoken of in Rev. 12:5." The Greek text tells us that this manchild is a HUIOS, (the same word used of the adoption of sons, in Galatians 4:5) and it's neuter, neither male nor female. It's the manchild, of which we read in Romans 8:19.
"The whole creation waits for the manifestation of the sons of God." But the manchild places focus upon the fact that the church body is "one" in Jesus Christ, and not fragmented into splinter groups, that give the advantage to Satan, our arch-enemy.
Only this "deadly wound" to the seventh Head, could receive a wound with a sword and live. The blow to Satan and His kingdom that came through calvary, was an eternal work, and Jesus said: It is finished! The Lord Jesus, having overcome the world, the flesh and the devil, stands as the Author and the Finisher of our faith. Now we must go forth in the power of the Spirit of the living Christ, who is Captain of the Hosts of Heaven. He is giving direction as he gave direction to Saul of Tarsus on the Damascus Road, following his conversion. (Acts 9) As the glorified Jesus Christ spoke to Ananias, and told him what he should do, in Acts 9:10. As the Spirit of Jesus gave direction to the disciples who assayed to go to Bithynia, but the Spirit of Jesus suffered them not. (Acts 16:7) Know of a certainty that this Jesus is both Lord (God) AND Christ. (Messiah: Our atoning sacrifice)
THE WORD WAS PROS TON THEON: FACE TO FACE WITH GOD!
John 1:1 tells us a key point with regard to the "kingdom of God." It says: In the beginning was the word, and the word was with God and the word was God. This messianic declaration, states the very essence of the life of Messiah. He was or He existed "in the beginning" as the eternal Spirit of God, who robed Himself in flesh, and came to earth. As a flesh and blood man on earth, He was tested in all points like as we, yet without sin.
I love this verse, and especially the portion which says: And the word was "with God." The Greek text, reads: "He was facing or face to face with God." he lived His entire life in submission to the Father's word and will.
The uncompromizing word for Christians today is that "Sisera" forever stands as the symbol for all anti-christ type activity, and we should not harbor this in our own "tent," so to speak. This does not mean that all people residing in this region today are evil people. But in every group of people, there are those who choose to be exactly that. There are others, who are unaware that God's word states that there is none righteous, no not one, according to scripture. That all man's righteousness is as filthy rags. God's plan of salvation provided salvation through Messiah, God's own sinless lamb. This removes man's sin and imputes Jesus Christ's own righteous standing before the Father in heaven.
The bible states: "Sin shall not have dominion over you,for you are not under the law, but under grace!" (Romans 6:14) Do not allow "anger" to rule you! Deal with issues in your life promptly, by confessing this anger to the Lord and asking God to help you to overcome it. Do not tolorate the children of your household to war and fight on a continuous basis as if this were the norm. When our three boys were small, we said to them: Look! I love you, and you and you, and I absolutely will not tolorate our home being a war zone, by your continuous bickering. You will live as Christian brothers in the Lord.
Angry wives and husbands, make amends. Live as joint-heir of the grace of life. You may not be able to totally solve the world's terrorist problems immediately, but you can sure dry up the river of terrorism seeking to reign in your own home. Put a stop to the violence! Stop yelling at each other! This type of behaviour is "learned behaviour." It can be unlearned. You can be the true disciple of Jesus Christ. Get some communication skills and teach these to your children. Let peace garrison your heart through faith in Jesus Christ!
In Habakkuk's ode, we read a key to God achieving victory in our own lives, as well as the territory outside our lives and homes.
His glory covered the heavens and the earth was full of His praise! (Habakkuk 3:3
Did you know that the devil or Satan was once known by a far more beautiful name? He was Lucifer, son of the morning, and his job was not always to spoil mankind, and to bring degradation, corruption and ruination. He was, in the beginning, "the anointed cherub that covers." As an archangel, he covered the heavens with the praises of God.
When iniquity was found in him, Lucifer lost this priviledge. His musical gift, now perverted; became the tool to destroy.
The priviledge to cover the heavens with God's praise was given to the body of Christ, through the One who ever lived to please His Father, and that is Jesus Christ. To praise from the lips alone, and not to live the life before God that is pleasing to Him, is hypocrisy.
As a son or daughter of the Most High God, you can fill the earth with God's praise. Begin with filling your life with the works of Jesus, for these are praise-worthy before the face of the Father in heaven. As your home is filled with the works of Jesus, and He is seen in you, fill your neighborhood with the wonders of His love and power. And then the world.
His bow was made quite naked, according to the oaths of the tribes, even thy word. Thou didst cleave the rivers! (Habakkuk 3:9)
God works through covenants. It has been this way for thousands of years.
In the Old Testament, this was true, and in the New Testament, there has been given us through the atoning sacrifice of Christ, a new and better covenant, through the precious blood of the Lamb of God who takes away the sins of the world. (Heb. 7:22, Heb. 8:6) Jesus said: He that believes on Me, out of his innermost being shall flow rivers of living water! God wants to cleave rivers in you, my brother or my sister. Listen for His voice, and then go where God sends you, and obey the leading of His Spirit.
And there was a hiding of His power..." (Habakkuk 3:4)
There was a hiding of God's power only insofar as He could manifest His power in a sovereign way, as He chose to. When God walked this earth in the person of Messiah, there were people who received from God and people who did not. This was not due to God's unwillingness to bless, or because he was a respector of persons. But they put themselves in a position to oppose God's blessing through their own pride or unbelief.
In Mark 6:5, we read: And He could do no mighty work, except that he laid His hands on a few sick folk and healed them." (In Nazareth) Today, we see healings and of course we are very excited. But God wants so much more...He wants to do miracles among us! Wherever the presence of Jesus is there to perform healings, we should get on our faces and plead: More Lord!!!
Before Him went the pestilence," and burning coals at His feet. (Habakkuk 3:5)
Do you know that Jesus Christ paid the redemption price for all mankind and the term SOZO in Greek, speaks of salvation, healing and deliverance. Has sin tried to rule over you in your life or in your household? Repent, and turn from any accomodation of evil. Sin is of the devil. He has infiltrated the lifes and homes of mankind from the beginning.
Has sickness terrified and terrorized you? Jesus stands ready to deliver you. Only believe!
Do not be afraid of biological or chemical warfare. In Mark 16:16-18, we read:
"And if you drink any deadly thing it shall not hurt you!" My family has long taken this to mean "the injesting" of poisonous or harmful substances. This does not mean that you should not use wisdom, because Tom uses a facial mask in his stone work, but there are times when there is nothing you can do. Some chemical is released, and the fumes threaten to over come you. Only believe and rest upon the word of God.
Psalm 91 speaks of dwelling in the Secret Place of the Most High, and this pslam, covers God's protection" from every evil known to man, even that which comes in the night, or would threaten to come upon you or your family unaware!
His brightness was as the light...He had horns coming out of His hand. (Habakkuk 3:
The literal interpretation is that He had "beams of light" coming out of His hand. Do you know that when He was a man on earth, Jesus looked like other men? Old paintings of Him, may have a halo of light around His head, but Jesus looked like an ordinary man, to outward observation.
But in Him was life and that life was the light of men? He laid his gentle hands on people, or he spoke a word and diseases fled! If you are a believer in Jesus Christ this life--this light and power resides in you, through the person of the Spirit of the living Christ. You can do the very works of Jesus Christ, by the anointing that abides within you. "We have this treasure in earthen vessels, that the excellency of the power might be of God and not of us!" (2 Corinthians 4:7)
MIDIANITE TERRITORY VS THE KINGDOM OF GOD:
In ancient times, the territory of Midian, included land on the west as well as on the east of the Gulf of Akaba. (Exodus 4:19) It lay between Edom and Paran. So when we read that "The God came from Teman and the Holy One from Mount Paran," this is why! (1 Kings 11:18)
But the word of God tells us that the knowledge of the Lord will cover the land as the waters cover the sea. (Isaiah 11:9)
The Spirit of God stands ready to wage war against the violence and terrorism, and He is mustering out the troops! Make sure that you are on the right side of this conflict, by refusing to compromise the good news of the gospel message of the peace that came to earth through Jesus Christ. That starry night in Bethleham, as the babe called Immanuel, "God with us," and Jesus (Yahweh is Salvation") lay in the little wooden manger, the sky was filled with the heavenly host, proclaiming: Before He went away, our Messiah, the only mediator between God and man, said: "Peace I leave with you, My peace I give unto you: not as the world gives peace. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid." (John 14:27)
Make your home a haven of peace. Invite the weary, the storm tossed, those longing to be free to your liberty light house! Let them find the peace that Jesus Christ spoke of with you there!
