ELCOME TO THE
ORLD IDE EB
IRCLE OF RIENDS
EUNION 2004 EADQUARTERS

We are working on a Sponsors Acknowledgement Site; please help me with this to be sure we do not leave anyone out.

Few gatherings are as uplifting, rewarding and worthwhile as reunions. They span generations and strengthen friendships. They provide a sense of identity as hearts and minds unite in a sharing of values.
Happiness is not found at the end of the road, it is experienced along the way.
Your relationships are the legacy you leave to the world.

So my dear friends, never under estimate the power of relationships!

I realize that it is almost impossible to imagine what it is going to be like - most of us meeting for the very first time and spending time together. Just try to think of and picture all the experiences we will be celebrating together!

Who would ever believe? We will laugh together, cry together and eat & sleep together; but most important WE WILL BE TOGETHER. We are a group of people with open minds, with a taste for adventure and a willingness to be friends.

Thank you to our hosts, the Duquette Family, for opening their home and their hearts to each of us and for allowing our dream of a reunion to become a reality.

Where: Garnet, Marie & Patsi's Home - Tilbury, Ontario

When: July 16 - 18th, 2004

Hosted By: Garnet, Marie and Patsi Duquette

RSVP by Email to Marie or to Patsi or Sharon today to get your name on this list or complete the RSVP form further down on this page.

You might be thinking......."Why would I go to this reunion? I have no idea who these people are?"

Think about that for a moment. Think about the mixture of personalities. There is a tremendous amount of diversity within the WWWCOF. We each have different life experience, different cultures, different ideas and some of us even speak different languages. There is nothing I can think of to compare to this Reunion. Not only will we meet new friends but we will each end up being a better person as a result of all the things we experience in July. When we return to our homes we will even better our own communities. We will become irreplaceable in each others hearts and the memories will last for generations.

Besides all that; this may be the only time we have this opportunity!

The mandate of the WWW COF is to achieve a community where there would be an unconditional and unbiased display of hands held in friendship and fellowship across all borders of the world....an online unification of peoples of all nations and all backgrounds. This reunion, without a doubt, will be a historic event and as a result we will make this world just a little bit nicer.

ATTENTION ALL MEMBERS

Please remember to send Marie a couple of pictures of yourselves. Do include a baby picture also. For further information on this please email Marie.

Patsi is putting together a musical CD in celebration of this reunion. Please email Patsi and let her know what your favourite song is.

Chelsea will be videotaping the reunion and the extra-curricular activities.

Pat, aka Big Sis, will be publishing numerous photo albums.

Websites will be published to share our memories with each of you.

Who know? Perhaps they may be a book published as a result. Proudly we are a group of people who love others not for who they are, but for how they make us feel and this we will shout to the world.

VERY SPECIAL ANNOUNCEMENT

The members in Mar del Plata, Argentina, (Charito, Daphne, Hilda, Marcela, Maria Elena & Monica) have completed a reunion banner to be hung at the Reunion place and taken on outings.

Isn't this the best example of TEAM work!!! WAY TO GO SOUTH AMERICA!!!!!!!!!

Jeanette from the Land Down Under is not able to attend but she is bringing a bit of Australia to us. Don't be surprised to find some cute little koala bears carrying Australian Flags in Tilbury this July. Thank you so much Jeanette.

The headquarters for our reunion is the Duquette home in Tilbury, Ontario Canada. A community of approximately 4,400 located on the west boundary of Chatham-Kent and strategically located along Highways #2 and #401. Great location, excellent setting and friendly atmosphere. There is something for everyone's tastes in the area from sandy beaches, clean campgrounds, golf courses, quiet hiking trails, outdoor concerts, exciting events to great shopping.

Now if you do not just want to rest and relax during the weekend here are some things that are going on in nearby areas that you might like to take part in:

1. RM Classic Car Show - Experience an ever-changing display of one-of-a-kind classic and rare cars - 37,000 sq. ft. of automotive history and memorabilia. Watch RM's professionals perform their award-winning restoration work.

2. Blenheim Cherry Festival where the Pit Spiting Contest is a highlight. I wonder if out of town people can compete in this competition as I know one sure winner, our "Champ"!. Blenheim is located close to the shores of Lake Erie and only minutes from Rondeau Provincial Park. Bargains galore can be found during this annual festival and one-of-a-kind items can be found at the Sidewalk Sales that are held in conjunction with this popular event. All this and a Midway too!!!

3. Thamesville, a small community with lots of spirit is holding its annual Threshing Festival, one of the best agricultural parades left in small-town Ontario.. Another great friendly rural community well worth a visit. It all starts with a parade and other activities such as Country Music, K-9 demonstrations, Midway rides and a water-ball fight. Lots of fun for EVERYONE!

4. Walpole Island PowWow features powwow dancing performances by Native American dancers. Everyone is able to dance during an intertribal dance -- wouldn't that be fun! There is a craft show displaying various Native American items, while learning about the heritage and various Native American foods and drinks will be available.

Those of you who have got to know me well know that I am quite a history buff and always seeking out information on just about anything. People and cultures have always captivated my interest. Southern Ontario where we will be gathering is one great place to learn! Plans are underway to take tours of various items of interest such as:

a) The Underground Railroad - Of the 15 million African slaves who survived their captive trip to the United States, about 40,000 fled to Canada in the 1830s. Through humanitarian efforts of many sympathetic souls, the "Underground Railroad" or "The Freedom Trail" was created, an intricate network of people who hid and guided salves as they made their way across the border. Sympathizers used quilts with elaborate coded designs on them to direct the slaves northward. A must read if you can get your hands on a copy is a book called "The Road That Led to Somewhere by Dr. Bryan E. Walls".

b) Uncle Tom's Cabin showcases this unique and proud Canadian Heritage. Uncle Tom's Cabin is the restored home and Interpretive Centre of Rev. Josiah Henson, a runaway slave from the United States and whose life was the basis of the powerful in Harriet Beecher Stowe's novel - Uncle Tom's Cabin (1852).

c) Niagara Falls - What a beautiful world we live in! There are many awesome and phenomenal places on earth, both natural and man made, with origins that sometimes can and can't be explained. Niagara Falls is one of one of the most famous spectacles in North America. The falls are on the international line between the cities of Niagara Falls, N.Y. U.S.A., and Niagara Falls, Ontario, Canada. Four hour trip from Tilbury to Niagara Falls.

d) Welland Canal - Originally constructed in 1829 to link Lake Erie with Lake Ontario and offer ships a safe detour around Niagara Falls, the Welland Canal has a long and colourful history. The Welland Canal, routinely hoist ships longer than two football fields and weighing more than 30,000 tonnes up and down the Niagara Escarpment and has done so for over 150 years. Another four hour trip.

A lot of planning will have to take place to ensure a smooth and successful reunion so be prepared to "dig in" and help however you can. No offer of help will be refused.

ROCK THIS COUNTRY
<BGSOUND src="https://www.angelfire.com/journal2/wwwcof/Shania.MP3" loop="10"> Written by Twain/Lange

I woke up this morning with a buzz rollin' 'round in my brain
I haven't been drinkin' but it feels pretty good just the same
It must be contagious -- looks like it's goin' around
It's cool once you catch it -- you can't keep your feet on the ground

C'mon, c'mon -- let's get something started
C'mon, c'mon -- let's start something now

We're gonna rock this country
We're gonna rock this country
Every brown-eyed boy -- every blue-eyed girl
Gotta really go psycho -- give it a whirl
We're gonna rock this country
Right out of this world
Ah-oo-na-na-na...

From Utah to Texas, Minnesota, Mississippi too
Or Nevada, no matter where you live -- this buzz is for you

C'mon, c'mon -- let's get something started
C'mon, c'mon -- let's start something now

We're gonna rock this country
We're gonna rock this country
Every brown-eyed boy -- every blue-eyed girl
Gotta really go psycho -- give it a whirl
We're gonna rock this country
Right out of this world
Ah-oo-na-na-na...

Ah-oo-na-na-na...

We're pluggin' in the power
Crankin' up the sound
It's comin' your direction
It's headin' to your town
We're kicking up dust
Blowin' off steam
Let's get nuts now
Everybody scream

We're gonna rock this country
We're gonna rock this country
Every brown-eyed boy -- every blue-eyed girl
Gotta really go psycho -- give it a whirl
We're gonna rock this country
Right out of this world
Ah-oo-na-na-na...

Friendship Road

I've a warm and friendly feeling
As I think of you today,
And I wish that we could visit,
But you're many miles away.

Separated by such distance,
Yet your letters bring you near,
Through the miles we share a friendship
That's become to me most dear.

Friends through correspondence only,
Still your face I need not see,
For your soul shines through the pages
Every time you write to me!

Your special way of writing,
Warming as the sunshine rays,
Brings joy and inspiration,
And brightens up my days.

You've enriched my life, my dear friend,
And I hope God wills we meet,
Friendship's Road is so much nicer
Traveling with one so sweet!

We are all well aware that there is no “I” in TEAM and we have a saying - "What is difficult we carry out immediately...the impossible might take a little longer."

Please take a moment to visit our website: http://members.shaw.ca/sharongreene/COF.html

To make this as easy as possible for our hosts we should try to get some corporate sponsors, we should see who would like to be our supplier of coffee, food items, etc. etc.; if you know what I mean.

I will be constantly on the prowl for some "corporate type sponsors" who will provide items and no cost or low cost.

I will be in touch with The Canadian Government for some "freebees" and anyone else I can think of and ask for your help with the same. See if you can be "Ambassadors for a Weekend" and get promotional materials for distribution at our reunion at no cost to you. Do you work for a company that wants to get their message out to the world, this may be a venue for them and we would welcome any free items they would like to provide! We will talk more about this as time goes on.

Do I sound excited, that would be because I most certainly am!!!!

One of the many festivities that we will share in together and remember forever will be that of making our very own World Wide Web Circle of Friends T-shirt similar to this one that Susan made for Marie last September in the T-Shirt Swap:

Can't wait to get going on this project with each of you.

Keeping in touch with friends around the world!

Always extend a hand in friendship!

Take a moment to look at this Friendship Book and this Friendship Card

Love to have you sign the guestbook before you leave today.

Have a Great Day everyone!

We are the Circle of Friends, made from a chain,
A chain of cable and wire without an end.

There's lots to do and plenty of friends to meet in the Worldwide Circle of Friends! We have people from all over the world who meet, chat and share experiences.

Find out more about us in the site, look at the Message Board and then be sure to join in!

“A ball is a circle. No beginning, no end.
It keeps us together, like our Circle of Friends;
but, the treasure inside, for you to see
is the treasure of friendship you've granted to me.

Today I pass the friendship ball to you. Pass it on to someone who is a friend to you.”

A four leaf clover is rare,
and so is a friend who cares,
so with this token
and no words spoken
I offer my friendship to share
- By Tammy Pottruff!

What did I do today?
I sat in my room and talked to my friends!
And this is where my day begins
We talked about crafting, recipes too,
About how were happy, sad or feeling blue
We give each other hugs, we smile and we cry
Show our photos of family here and gone by
We answer questions on this and on that
And it doesn’t matter where each of us sat
For were all in the same room
Huddled together
And for this we’ll remain friends forever
So when your alone wondering what you can do
Come to our room, meet friends like me and you
The WWWCOF are waiting, come join us we say
Then you too can answer What did I do today?

~~written by Pat Broatch & dedicated to the WWWCOF~~
