This is Kevin Williamson's first unoriginal project.His screenplay is based on Lois Duncann's novel by the same name.To tell the truth.The movie is much better than the book.The book has no mystery to it what so ever.
Okay now heres the story.Its Julie,Ray,Helen and Barry's last summer together.Highschool is over and college isnt far away.It's the Fourth of July and the foursome is out drinking and getting a little trashed.Then on a drive down a winding road,something happens.Some thing that will change their lives forever.They vowe to take the secret to their grave....
BUT one year later someone knows their secret and they know what they did last summer.
