In a prior writing, it was noted how much work, effort, and tenacity is necessary to follow the path of High Magick. This was done in terms so plain and blunt as to border on crudity. I make no apology for this. Yet upon later thought it appears that the necessity of this herculean labor was not explained. Let us redress this fault.
The Knowledge and Conversation of the Holy Guardian Angel (abbr. K.& C. of the H.G.A.) is a mask for an incredibly sublime experience. We use a nonsense phrase to avoid speculation and theorizing before the fact. In terms simple enough to be misleading, it is the lower self and higher self making contact.
This is the first great ordeal of the A.'.A.'. system. All that goes before is preparation and training to achieve this singular objective. Is it necessary? Mostly yes. Is it worth it? Definitely yes.
For each individual the tools and conditions of success are unique. We therefore endevor to make certain that aspirants are fully trained with each tool. That each aspirant has full experience with possible conditions.
Yet I qualified my statement above to "Mostly yes". The reason for this is that in Liber 418, the 18 Aethyr, Aiwass declares a method that he promises will bring anyone to the K.& C. of the H.G.A.
Querrying my own source, he says that there is a balance of conditions. How much one achieves is preconditioned by what one brings to it. There are varying degrees of success. However it is up to one's Angel to decide when the full experience will occur.
This is important. Any half talented fool off the street could apply Liber Samekh long enough and think the faint shadow of a transient spark to be the complete experience. Hell, any kind of lying spirit or neurotic complex could try and claim it is the H.G.A. in this situation. How would you know the true from the false?
Here's a free personal example. Iwent for many years experimenting with Liber Samekh. I was getting all kinds of results. It took years to deepen my experience and penetrate to the higher levels. And despite the absolute clarity and certainty, I force myself to maintain a proper doubt that I might be fooling myself. Perhaps my next effort will prove or disprove that!
