This is the home page of JANET LAUBHAN FLICKINGER. I was born and raised in Russell, KS. I started "tracing my roots" about 26 years ago and it has become an almost full-time hobby! I am primarily interested in the Russian Volga village of SHCHERBAKOVKA aka TSCHERBAKOWKA, and work closely with a group of other Village Coordinators for the parishes of STEPHAN AND GALKA (which includes: SHCHERBAKOVKA, DREISPITZ, GALKA, STEPHAN, HOLSTEIN, KRAFT, DOBRINKA, SCHWAB & MUELLER).
I have also done a lot of research and extraction of records for Russell Co., KS, maintaining a database of over 96,000 people whose lives have connected to Russell. I would love to share and compare information with you on your Russell Co. ancestors.
I hope that you will find something helpful in the research that I have posted here. I would appreciate hearing from you about any connections that you might make. All of us in the Lower Volga Village Project have worked very hard to compile a computer database of all descendents of our Volga villages. We continue to invest time and money to acquire more records and data out of Russia. We would appreciate you're sharing your family trees either by GEDCOM or hardcopy, to be added to the database (not posted to the web).
I am personally researching the surnames of: LAUBHAN, WASSENMILLER, MEIER, NUSS, HAFFNER, and HANSCHU from Shcherbakovka, Russia; BATT and BAUM from Frank and Brunnental, Russia; and FLICKINGER from Germany>PA>OH>KS
