The Ancient World is
one of the most fascinating periods of time. Many people believe
that the world becomes more advanced and more cultured as time crawls forward.
The civilizations of the Renaissance must have been better than that that
of the ancient world according to this view. Most historians, however,
would laugh at this uninformed
assumption. The world of the ancients was cleaner, technologically
advanced, cultured, and much more open-minded than even our "enlightened"
civilization today. The ancient world that surrounded the Mediterranean
Sea is my favorite time period.
