Hebrews and Phoenicians
The Hebrews and Phoenicians
are an interesting combination. Both of these cultures inhabited
roughly the same area of the world. They were neighbors of the Eastern
Mediterranean Sea Coast. In most cases, people in similar conditions
develop similarily. This is not the case for these two ancient cultures.
While one culture ventured out into the world, and spread its culture widely,
the other looked inward for validation. Ironically the culture that
spread to other places has long since disappeared, while the culture that
did not spread has remained solid for millenia. Why did this odd
occurance happen. What were the different paths taken by these two
inhabitors of ancient Palestine? Who were these cultures that had
such an odd cohabitation and such dramatic differences in thier history?
