Kansas SIDS Conference 2002

The conference was for parents/family members who have experienced the traumatic loss of their infant from SIDS.
The all-day conference united parents and family members from across the State and feature discussions on:

The Kansas SIDS Parent/Family Conference was sopnsored by the SIDS Network fo Kansas, Inc., the CJ Foundation for SIDS, Stormont-Vail Medical Center and Three Trees--A Center for Grieving Children and Their Families.

Dr. Chatterjee spoke on immunizations. It was very interesting...she had many questions after her presentation.

DR. ARCHANA CHETTARJEE, M.D., Ph.D is Assistant Professor of Pediatrics and Medical Microbiology and Immunology at Creighton University School of Medicine in Omaha, Nebraska.

    NESSA VERCILLO, is a Crisis Intervention Counselor for Onondaga Conty Medical Examiner's Office in Syracuse, New York who works with families who have lost children in tragic ways, her area of expertise is SIDS victims' families. Nessa is also a SIDS Parent.






    DR. JAMIE OBERST, M.D.,Deputy Medical Examiner-Forensic Pathologist with Sedgwick County Regional Forensic Science Center, Wichita, Kansas.

    DR. ERIK MITCHELL, M.D. is Chief Medical Examiner-Forensic Pathologist and District Coroner with the Shawnee County Coroner's Office in Topeka, Kansas.






    LINDA SIFFORD, is a Medical Investigator with the Sedgwick County Regional Forensic Science Center, Wichita, Kansas.

    CINDY SLEEPER, is a Medical Investigator with the Shawnee County Coroner's Office in Topeka, Kansas.

    CHILDREN'S GRIEF GROUP
    The Children's Grief Group met with Georgia Ahern, Expressive Art Therapist from Three Trees, and Eugene Cameron, and Anita Bookout. They met in a separate space in the hospital, and joined their families for lunch at the noon hour, and returned to the Children's Group after lunch.
