Schmidt, and was a shoemaker. He lived in the village of Klein Konopat. His
children do not list Sarcke Schmiten as their mother, but she is the only wife
listed for David Dircks.

line originated, supposedly lived in Przechowko. Nothing can be recalled at
this time about his first marriage. He was a widower, however, and eventually
took a second wife from Koslowo, where her parents, who were a very poor
family, lived. On the contrary, Jacob Isaac is reported to have so much wealth
that his wife's . . ."

(AA-156)(A-1379) In the 1835 census, he is listed at Friedensdorf #9, and is
said to have come to the Molotschna in 1819, and to Friedensdorf from
Alexanderwohl in 1827. He was the son of David Schmidt. He transferred his
membership from the Alexanderwohl Church to the Margenau Church. The entry
for Alexanderwohl #20 says he moved away in 1827. One record lists son
Peter's mother as an Anna Schmidt! This must have been his first wife. Since
he was married to Katharina in 1835, I am assuming she mothered the rest.
