The Geography

Well, until I* get a scanner (which may or may not be in the near future - I'm not sure) we're going to have to rely on a typed description. Lucky us.

Literal Geography

Karelis is a crude, rounded square about the size of Colorado. It is, of course, surrounded by high (and for the most part jagged) mountains - but the Barriers (as they are called) are not the only slopes. In the southeast corner stands the solitary Mount Tiacho, shrouded in jungle except for its peak which is high enough to be above treeline. Also, in the north and northwest, there is a small range of volcanic mountains. In the east there is massive lake, right up to the Barriers along almost the entire east side, that almost touches Mount Tiacho itself.
The southwest is a far more rounded corner than all of the others, in fact, it is a relatively straight line from about halfway through the south side of the square to a quarter up the west side. This would be the ocean. Rose pearls are sometimes found in underwater coves here. As to the oceanic barrier, the water is typical ocean for quite a ways out, giving the serpents and other ocean-dwelling creatures a large range.
For the interior, there is another fair-sized lake about half way above where the ocean laps the land. East of this lake straight across is a band of temperate forest and the further south you go in that forest, the more and more that it resembles a tropical jungle - until it is one. (Mt. Tiacho rises from that jungle). South of the center lake is the tropical forest again, however the two areas of matching vegetation only meet at the lake itself. Between them is a vast and mostly barren desert. On the west side of the lake are high mountains, where the Barriers come in a little bit. Following the mountain range around to the north, one would find the afore mentioned volcanoes. North of the temperate forest, is more temperate forest that finally turns into rolling plains, then badlands as it reaches the volcanoes.

Demographics

There are five main cities in Karelis, one for each of the Realms and one which is a combination and general meeting place for all. Here are their descriptions:
On the northwest bank of the central lake stand the twin cities of Kindu and Claro. Kindu is further north than its sister city and is the natural home of most of Karelis's Air Realm creatures. Claro is very near the lake, with a river or two running right through it and is a capital of sorts. Here is where the royalty resides and where beings come to Ra'al.
On the east side of the lake, deep in the temperate forest of the area is Benani, the home to Earth Realm creatures.
Between the ocean and jungle and in sight of the western Barriers, is the city of Tahouadi. This is the main city of serpents, merfolk, and selkies.
Far north, nestled within the fiery volcanoes and bubbling lava pits is Kaanrith, home of Fire.
