The following directions will help you customize your Yahoo messenger. IMPORTANT: do not use these tips if you are unsure of the process, or your company or other policys prohibit you from doing so.
Easiest: You can do the following in one step. Just remember to use the same title and file type when you save your Phantom images.
In The MESSENGER folder:
find the cache folder:
open the avatar folder, change the images to suit you
find the media folder: change the images to suit you
find the misc folder: change the images to suit you
Medium: Although not difficult, this level will require you to use programs to change colors and some pictures. Please do these changes to only one folder. Most files will be able to be replaced from the folder you left alone, savvy?
In The SHARED folder:
open the graphics folder, select the skin you want to change
In the skin folder you chose, change every item to suit your new look. This will take several hours.
In Messenger folder:
Open the YView folder and change the icons to suit you. Be very careful to maintain the preset sizes of all your images.
Advanced: Hate the horrid colors of the background and other items not yet touched? Then try this.
In The SHARED Folder
:
open the graphic folder, and choose the skin you’ve been altering
find the XML document inside the folder
right click and select edit
you are now free to change anything you wish color, font defaults, etc
Hints:
Try to keep your new files close in size to the old ones. Ex. Replacing a 3k file with a 400k file will result in much slower loading.
If all else fails and you’ve ruined the pager, junk the file and download a new one.
