BEVINS, John was born May 6 1881 and was the son of John W. and Cynthia Bevins. He was among one of the first families to settle in the hills of Pike County, Ky. He died on May 21 1947 due to heart failure. He was married to Mary Jane BALL. He is survived by his wife, two daughters, Mrs. Edward Nagosky and Mrs. Jack Sizemore, of Pinson Fork, Ky, one grandson, Johnnie Sizemore and two brothers Toby and Thurston Bevins. He joined the Bent Branch Church of Old Regular Baptist 3rd Sat in June 1921.
YOUNG, Blanch was born Dec 1921 and died Feb 1946. She was married to James Wallace Young on May 14 1938, and to them were born 3 children; James Wallace, Jr., Willie Gene and Aster Marie. She leaves her husband, mother, one brother Colun Ray, two sisters, Eria Mahone and Mrs. Jim Helvy. She was a member of the Bent Branch Church of Old Regular Baptist.
BEVINS, W. J. was the son of the late Rev. T. J. Bevins and Mary Anne MORRIS Bevins, of Meta Ky. He was born Mar 21 1887 and died April 21 1947. He was married to Myrtle ADAMS Bevins and they had 7 children. One preceded him in death. He was a member of the Bent Branch Church of Old Regular Baptist.
MAYNARD, Sarah was the daughter of Elijah and Mary Robertson Francis.. She was born Dec 22 1884 and died on May 11 1947. She was married to Harrison (Sonny) Maynard and they had 10 children; Delmon, Wade, Elza, Arnold, Arson, Claude, Mrs. John Bushnell, Mrs. George Stanley, Mrs. Carl Sparks and Sadie Maynard. Her father, one sister and husband preceded her in death. She leaves her children and one brother, J. M. Francis and seven sisters, Emma Caines, Virgie Caines, Ida Allen, Lizzie Slater, Leota, Vinnie and Daisy. She was a member of the Pilgrim Home Church of Old Regular Baptist.
MARCUM, Okla was the dauther of Seymour and Rachel Marcum and was born Jan 28 1909 and died May 10 1947. She was married to Trimble McGuire Aug 1934. He was a member of the Turkey Creek Church of Old Regular Baptist since April, 1946. Her death was caused by dropsy. Her father, mother and one sister and two brothers preceded her in death. She leaves her husband, one sister, Mrs. Tom Elswich; three brothers Elmer, Kenny and Dewey.
MAYNARD, Fields was the son of Jarad and Martha Ann Maynard, he was born Apr 20 1869 and died on Oct 6 1947. He was married to Dora FIELDS on Nov 16 1898 and they had four children, Perle Collins, Emer, Epeson and Ellis Maynard. He joined the Apple Orchard Church of Old Regular Baptist on July 25 1919.
ROBINETTE, Rev. Basil was the son of Hiram and Florence Robinette. He was born Mar 28 1886 and died Nov 12 1946. He ws married to Myrtie Smith on Feb 24 1912, and they had no children. He leaves his wife, 8 brothers, Daze, Roscoe, Bill, Steve, Joe, Elbert, Grayson, and Okey; two sisters, Mintie Jude and Wilda Muncy. He joined the Pilgrim Home Church of Old Regular Baptist Jul 24 1937.
VARNEY, Roxie was born Oct 19 1875 and died on Nov 30 1946. She was the mother of 12 children, 10 are living: Henry, Greenway, Lewis, Opal, Mrs. G. W. Chafin, Mrs. Bill Haga, Mrs. Farmer all of Ragland WVA; Mrs. W. B. Johnston, Kermit WVA, Mrs. Hulda Fleming, Maysville, Ky and Yantes Lane, Hurley, Va.
HINKLE, Vada was the daugther of Samuel and Rachel Robinette and was born Apr 12 1897 and died Apr 29 1947. She was married to Estill Hinkle on June 11 1918 and they had 11 children: Roy, Condor, Alpha, Carl, Claude, Elmer, Estill, Jr., Barbara, Emogene and W. L. , of which two preceded her in death. She ws a member of the Pilgrim Home Church of Old Regular Baptist.
VERNATTER, Stanley was married to Louisa Harris and they had 11 children, five preceded him in death: Laura, Mell, Maxie, Charlie and Louie.
CANTERBURY, Jesse Willard was the son of W. M. and Mary Ann Canterbury, he was born Apr 13 1916. He was killed in a truck accident on Nov 12 1946. He joined the Old Regular Baptist Church in 1939. He leaves his father, two brothers, James and Major; three isters, Sarah, Eliza and Elvira.
BLACKBURN, Polly was the daughter of Britt and Mary Ann (Tiller) Blackburn. He was born on Mar 16 1878 and died Sept 18 1947. She was married to Elias Blackburn in 1898. They had 10 children, 4 preceded him in death.
SMITH, Maryland was the daughter of Robert and Rebecca (Maynard) Smith, she was born May 30 1896 and died on Oct 19 1947. She was married to Isom RAY on October 21 1924, they had 5 children, Hollis, John, Thomas, Betty E. and Mrs. Raymond Syck. She leaves her husband and children, two sisters, Mrs. Noah Bowling of Williamson WVA and Mrs. Elizabeth Miller of Pikeville, Ky. She was a member of the Bent Branch Church of Old Regular Baptist.
STEWART, Mary Delphia was born March 12 1887 and died Mar 24 1937. She was married to Heram STEWART and they had 7 children, 4 girls and 3 boys, six are still living. She was a member of the Bethel Church of Old Regular Baptist. RIFFE, Sarah Ann was born Feb 18 1868 and died on May 29 1942. She was first married to Floyd Short and they had one boy and one girl. She later married Gabe Riffe and they had 4 boys and 2 girls, 5 boys are still living. She was a member of the Little Zion Church of Old Regular Baptist.

RATLIFF, Ella was born Aug 7 1874 and died on Apr 16 1943. She was married to W. M. CHILDERS on Dec 9 1888 and they had 6 children: alvin P. Childers, Alpha Childers Bartley, Verna Childers, James H. BALDWIN, Robert was born Mar 21 1883 and died on May 1 1943. He was the son of John F. Baldwin and Celia Baldwin. He was married to Annie CHURCH on Dec 4 1901 and they had 9 children, 5 girls, and 4 boys. Two of the children died in infancy. He joined the Old Regular Baptist Church in 1922. He was buried at the Dry Fork Cemetary in Pike Co., Ky.

ROSE, Kermit Ray was born Feb 13 1949 and died Apr 9 1949, he was the son of Dewitt Rose and Opal WARD Rose. His death was due to spinal meninitis. He leaves behind his father and mother and one sister, Gloria G. Rose.
THACKER, Rev. John D. was born Aug 24 1891 and died Nov 26 1942. He was the son of Dan and Solphia Thacker. He was married to Minnie JUSTICE on May 17 1917 and they had 12 children. Three boys and one girl preceded him in death. He leaves his wife, Minnie and children, Dan, Zettie, Sophia, Vinton, Quinnie, King, Ruby, and Gusta. He joined the Old Regular Baptist Church Feb 1931.
HILL, Palistine ws born Jul 5 1866 and died on Jul 9 1943. He was married to Nancy E. WOOD and they had 4 boys and 5 girls. One son preceded him in death. He was a member of the Old Regular Baptist Church since Feb 1899. HALL, David (Bud) was born Mar 28 1865 and died on May 16 1943. He was married to Nan TUCKER and they had 10 children, one preceded him in death. He joined the Chloe Creek Church of Old Regular Baptist on Aug 19 1930.
MAGGARD, Hubert and Arlino. Hubert was born May 14 1943 and died Jul 20 1943. Arlino was born Nov 21 1932 and died on Oct 26 1933.
MULLINS, Palestine was born Jul 1 1900 and died Apr 10 1938. He was the son of Bill and Eliza Mullins. He was married to Rosa BRANHAM in 1925 and they had 3 children. After Rosa's death he married Mahala TURNER and they had one boy.
MULLINS, Lenza was born Sep 10 1874 and died Dec 22 1942. He was bedridden for 25 years with creeping paralysis. He could not talk for 8 years prior to his death. He and Liza had 6 chidlren, two preceded him in death. He joined the Old Regular Baptist Church July 1909 at Ashcamp, Ky.
STANLEY, Franklin was born Jan 27 1876 and died June 9 1942. He was the son of Floyd and Mary Stanley. He was married to Winnie Ann Stanley and they had no children.
STANLEY, Ave was born Feb 23 1917 and died Apr 18 1942, he was killed in the Clicho mines. He leaves his father, mother, 4 brothers and 4 sisters.
CHARLES, Laura Maxie was the daughter of Thomas Charles and Frances Charles. She was born Feb 27 1898 and died Aug 23 1947. She was married to W. M. FIELDS in 1916, they had 10 children, her husband preceded her in death 13 years ago.
COLEMAN, Mary Ellen (Mollie) was the daughter of H. E. and Louisa Coleman. She was born Mar 25 1876 at Marrowbone, Pike Co., Ky died Mar 6 1947. She was married to John R. RASNICK on Jun 6 1893 and they had 10 children, two children died in infancy. There are six sons, Bill, Allen, James E., Frank, John, Jr., and Arthur; two daughters Mrs. W. M. Coleman and Mrs. C. R. Cole. She joined the Old Regular Baptist Church Jul 1927.
TURNER, John B. was born Oct 10 1868 and died Dec 12 1946. He was married to Rachel A. HAY on Feb 7 1888 and they had 8 children, two sons preceded him in death. He lived in Marion, Va the last 3 years of his life. He joined the Old Regular Baptist Church in May 1919 and was baptized by Rev. Hiram Rose at Delano, Va.
RAINES, Rev. Z. T. was born Dec 5 1865 and died Apr 9 1947. He was the son of John Raines and Sophia CONAWAY. He ws married to Rosina OWENS on May 5 1887 and they had 7 childre, 4 girls and 3 boys, all living. He joined the Bull Creek Church of Old Regular Baptist in 1894.
COLEMAN, Mary was born March 25 1947 and died Apri 5 1947.
SMALLWOOD, Earl was born Mar 3 1912 and died June 11 1946 from a coal mining accident. He ws married to Thelma ROWE on Feb 20 1937 and they had 3 children, one boy and two girls. One girl, Ida, preceded him in death. He is survived by his wife, and 2 children, Rose Marie and James Harvey Smallwood.
MULLINS, Jonah was the son of W. L. J. Mullins and Rildy Mullins. He was married to Arizona CANTRELL in Mar 1910 and they had 7 children, five living. Jonah died Mar 12 1945. Arizona died Mar 1921 and he marriedl Otella MULLINS and they had 8 children, seven still living. He leaves his wife and 12 children.
PHILLIPS, Christopher Columbus was born Jun 4 1872 and died Feb 9 1946. He was the son of Clark and Lydia Phillips. He married Rebecca CAMPBELL and they had 5 chidlren, 3 girls and 2 boys. One girl died at the age of 42. His wife died 1905 and he then married Anna BAYS in 1912 and they had 11 children, two died in infancy leaving 7 boys and 2 girls. He joined the Old Regular Baptist Church in 1934.
BAKER, Rev. R. L. was born May 12 1885 and died May 7 1947. He was the son of Rev. R. A. and Mary Baker. He married Mollie HOPKINS on Dec 31 1906 and they had 6 children; four girls, Mrs. Clara Owens, Harlan, Ky; Mrs. Ruby Jones, Wise, Va; Mrs. Bonnie Jessie, Wilmington, Del, and Mrs. Ione York, Raleigh NC; two boys, Roscoe, in the Army, and Bob, Jr., at home. He joined the Old Regular Baptist Church in 1910. He leaves his wife, six children, 11 grandchildren, 3 brothers, and two sisters.
HAMILTON, James was born Aug 16 1881 and died Feb 25 1947. He was the son of Shefie and Phena MULLINS Hamilton. He was married to Emma SWINDALL in 1903 and they had 5 children, two boys and three girls. The boys and one girl preceded him in death.

On Nov 23 he joined the Old Regular Baptist Church.
STANLEY, Eura was the daughter of Rob and Ruthy STANLEY. She was born Mar 4 1900 and died Apr 15 1947. She was married to Jimmie HAWKINS on Dec 23 1917 and they had 3 children, 1 girl and 2 boys, Effie, Erby and Calvin. Her husband was killed in the mines on Aug 8 1930. She later married Eli CASTLE, they had one boy, Eugene Castle. She joined th the Little Zion Church of Old Regular Baptist in Norland, Va in Aug 1931. She leaves behind a husband, 4 children, father, mother, two brothers, Ceburn and Allen Stanley, two sisters, Pina FLEMING and Viola Stanley.
OWENS, Wilson was the son of W. A. and Nannie Ownes, he was born Apr 12 1904 and died on Jun 23 1943. He leaves a wife, three children, father, mother, three brothers and five sisters.
YATES, Sarah was born Jun 13 1939 and died on Nov 11 1946. She was the daughter of Walter and Canzatey Yates.

STANLEY, Rev. Harrison was born Sep 26 1872 and died Aug 17 1947. He was the son of Hannah Stanley. He was married to Sally CASTLE and they had one girl who ided at the age of six. He was ordained as a minister in the Old Regular Baptist Church in 1909.
FULLER, Lucille was the dauther of Henry and Ebie Fuller, she was born March 30 1941 and died Mar 27 1947. Her death was caused by an accidental shot fired by her first cousin, Eugene Hogston.

BARTLEY, Sinda was born Jul 4 1878 and died May 26 1947. She ws the daughter of Wilson and Beaky MULLINS. She was married to John Henry Bartley and they had 3 girls, and one boy. One girl preceded her in death. She joined the Old Regular Baptist in 1938.
BAKER, Sarah was married to Jes Baker and was the daughter of John GIBSON. She was born in 1878 and died in 1945. Jes Baker ws the son of Sam Baker and he was born in 1877 and died in 1940. They were married in 1897 or 1898 and to them were born 5 boys and 5 girls,, two girls preceded them in death. Mrs. Mollie Anderson and Leota Baker. The remaining children are: Martin, Fred, Joel, Jes, Jr., Johnnie; the girls, Mrs. Taulby Cantrell, Onecy and Melissie. They both are buried in Floyd County. They both were members of the Ashcamp Church of Old Regular Baptist.
ADKINS, Nancy J. was born May 21 1889 and died Nov 25 1946, she was the daughter of alford and Sarah Adkins. She was married to Eldon Winston MAY in 1915, they had 6 girls and 4 boys. Four girls and one boy preceded her in death. She joined the Old Regular Baptist Church Jan 1916.
GOFF, Fannie was born in Virginia on Mar 13 1883 and died on Mar 25 1947. She was married to Adam Goff and they had 9 children, two preceded her in death. Written by her daughter, Dellla JUSTICE.
HALE, Sarah E. was the daughter of James and Margaret HALE, she was born on May 19 1861 and died Jan 4 1946. She was married to Basil MULLINS in 1880, they had 10 children, 5 died in infancy. Written by a daughter, Lydia M. Dotson
MEADE, Rev. N.W. was born Jun 27 1880 and died Dec 5 1946. At the age of 20, he married Mora McFALL and they had 6 boys and 6 girls; Ballard, Marcus, Columbus, Lloyd, Sherman and Estill; girls, Nannie, Eura, Bertha, Virgie, Bessie and Maywood; all living except Nannie. After the death of his wife, Mora, he married Cora PILKINS on May 7 1946. Funeral was at the Elizabeth Church of Old Regular Baptist at Millstone.
MEADE, Mora was born Apr 20 1886 and died on May 19 1945. She married Rev. N. W. Meade on Dec 22 1900 bu Rev. Elijah W. Baker. She joined the Old Regular Baptist Church in 1913.
CLEVINGER, Malvina was born Feb 22 1856 and died Mar 16 1946. She was married to John W. Clevinger at the age of 16. They had 4 girls and 3 boys; 2 are dead. She later married Floyd DEEL. Written by her son, Levi Clevinger.
COLLEY, Josha was born Jan 15 1865 and died on Jan 15 1944. He died at the Grundy Va Hospital.

WRIGHT, Andrew Jacksin "Andy" was born July 19 1866 to Hiram and Rena Wright. He was married to Pollie HOLBROOK on Dec 25 1902 and they had 11 children, 2 preceded him in death. He was a member of the Old Bethel Church of Old Regular Baptist.
