Eastern Kentucky coach Jeff Neubauer started the following lineup: 6-7 Sr. Timmy Knipp, 6-4 So. Jaylen Babb-Harrison, 6-8 Sr. Eric Stutz, 6-2 Sr. Corey Walden, and 6-5 Jr. Denzel Richardson.  Miami coach Jim Larranga countered with 6-7 Gr. Joe Thomas, 6-5 Jr. Sheldon McClellan, 7-0 Jr. Tonye Jekiri 5-11 Jr. Angel Rodriguez, and 5-11 So. Manu LeComte.

Eastern Kentucky led 27-25 at halftime and pulled away in the second half to defeat the #18 ranked Miami by a score of 72-44.  Miami was ice cold after the intermission as they started the second half missing 12 of their first 13 shots.  Eastern Kentucky shot 50.9% from the field including 14 of 26 from the three point line.  The Colonels shot a sizzling 60.7% from the field including nine of 14 from the three point line in the second half.  The Colonels connected on two of four free throws, pulled down 37 rebounds, and committed nine turnovers.  Miami shot 29.3% from the field including eight of 27 from beyond the arc.  The Hurricanes connected on 12 of 18 free throws, pulled down 26 rebounds, and committed 14 turnovers.

Corey Walden led Eastern Kentucky with 18 points and five rebounds.  Timmy Knipp added 17 points including five three point baskets.  Eric Stutz recorded 13 points, nine rebounds, and five assists.  6-2 So. Isaac McGlone chipped in with 12 points on four three point baskets.

Sheldon McClellan led Miami with 14 points including three three point baskets.  6-2 Fr. Deandre Burnett recorded nine points on three three point baskets.
