Ball State coach James Whitford started the following lineup: 6-6 Sr. Bo Calhoun, 6-6 Sr. Ryan Weber, 6-6 Jr. Franko House, 6-3 So. Francis Kiapway, and 6-4 Jr. Naiel Smith.  Eastern Kentucky University coach Dan McHale countered with 6-7 Sr. Jarelle Reischel, 6-7 So. Greg King, 6-9 Fr. Nick Mayo, 6-2 Jr. Isaac McGlone, and 6-5 Jr. Javontae Hawkins.

 

Eastern Kentucky captured a hard fought 89-81 victory over Ball State.  There were six ties and five lead changes in the game with Ball State opening the game with a 13-0 run.  Eastern Kentucky shot 56.5% from the field including 11 of 22 from the three point line.  The Colonels connected on 26 of 30 free throws, pulled down 26 rebounds, and scored 26 points off 18 Ball State turnovers.  Ball State shot 47.5% from the field including 12 of 26 from beyond the arc.  The Cardinals connected on 11 of 18 free throws, pulled down 33 rebounds, and scored 26 points off 16 Eastern Kentucky turnovers.

 

6-4 Jr. Jonathan Hood led Eastern Kentucky with 21 points including five three point baskets.  Javontae Hawkins added 20 points including 10 of 10 free throws.  6-4 Jr. Jaylen Babb-Harrison recorded 14 points including three three point baskets.  6-7 Sr. Ja’Mill Powell chipped in with 13 points.

 

Ryan Weber led Ball State with 19 points including four three point baskets.  Franko House added 17 points and 10 rebounds.  Francis Kiapway chipped in with 15 points on five three point baskets.  6-2 So. Jeremie Tyler recorded 10 points.
