Western Carolina coach 6-0 Sr. Erika Joseph, 5-10 So. Ace Easter, 6-2 Sr. Lindsey Burleson, 5-5 So. Kyla Hough, and 5-7 Sr. Lindsay Simpson.  Eastern Kentucky University coach Chrissy Roberts countered with 5-11 Fr. Abby Wright, 5-10 Sr. Shameekia Murray, 6-1 Jr. Jalen O’Bannon, 5-5 Jr. Mariah Massengill, and 5-10 Jr. Michaela Hunter.

 

Eastern Kentucky University defeated Western Carolina by a score of 91-62.  Eastern Kentucky shot 43.4% from the field including eight of 25 from the three point line.  The Colonels connected on 11 of 15 free throws, pulled down 51 rebounds, and scored 24 points off 20 Western Carolina turnovers.  Western Carolina shot 32.8% from the field including one of 12 from beyond the arc.  The Catamounts connected on 21 of 32 free throws, pulled down 45 rebounds, and scored seven points off 14 Eastern Kentucky turnovers.

 

Jalen O’Bannon led Eastern Kentucky with 21 points, nine rebounds, four assists, and two blocked shots.  Shameekia Murray added 20 points, seven rebounds, three assists, and five steals.  Michaela Hunter recorded eight points, eight rebounds, and four assists.  Mariah Massengill chipped in with eight points and six rebounds.  6-1 Sr. Miranda Maples added eight points and seven rebounds.

 

6-2 So. Sherae Bonner led Western Carolina with 12 points and two blocked shots.  Erika Joseph added 10 points, six rebounds, and two blocked shots.  Kyla Hough recorded nine points, three assists, and three steals.
