Tennessee Tech coach Jim Davis started the following lineup: 6-2 Jr. Alliyah Smith, 5-9 Jr. Hannah Goolsby, 6-2 Sr. Mariah Dean, 5-8 Jr. Lindsey Jennings, and 5-7 Sr. Samaria Howard.  Eastern Kentucky University coach Chrissy Roberts countered with 5-11 Fr. Abby Wright, 5-10 Sr. Shameekia Murray, 6-1 Jr. Jalen O’Bannon, 5-8 Jr. Alexus Cooper, and 5-10 Jr. Michaela Hunter.

 

Tennessee Tech went on a late 6-0 run to capture the lead and defeat Eastern Kentucky 77-72.  The score was tied five times and there were five lead changes in the game.  Tennessee Tech shot 50% from the field including four of 13 from the three point line.  They connected on 15 of 18 free throws, pulled down 29 rebounds, and scored 24 points off 19 EKU turnovers.  EKU shot 52.7% from the field including three of 14 from beyond the arc.  The Colonels connected on 11 of 15 free throws, pulled down 29 rebounds, and scored 11 points off 12 Tennessee Tech turnovers.

 

Samaria Howard led Tennessee Tech with 31 points including eight of eight free throws.  6-2 Gr. Candace Parson added 12 points and four rebounds.  Hannah Goolsby recorded 11 points including three three point baskets and five assists.  Lindsey Jennings recorded eight points, five rebounds, and five assists.

 

Jalen O’Bannon led Eastern Kentucky with 28 points and seven rebounds.  O’Bannon was 12 of 13 from the field and four of six free throws.  Shameekia Murray added 20 points, four rebounds, and five assists.  Michaela Hunter recorded nine points, four rebounds, and six assists.
