Belmont University coach Rick Byrd started the following lineup: 6-7 Jr. Evan Bradds, 6-3 So. Austin Luke, 6-8 So. Amanze Egekeze, 6-3 Jr. Taylor Barnette, and 6-3 Sr. Craig Bradshaw.  Eastern Kentucky coach Dan McHale countered with 6-7 Sr. Jarelle Reischel, 6-7 Sr. Ja’Mill Powell, 6-9 Fr. Nick Mayo, 6-1 Sr. Tommy Matthews, and 6-2 Jr. Isaac McGlone.

 

Belmont University defeated Eastern Kentucky by a score of 86-78.  Belmont shot 45.8% from the field including nine of 30 from the three point line.  They connected on 23 of 29 free throws, pulled down 42 rebounds, and scored 14 points off 10 Eastern Kentucky turnovers.  Eastern Kentucky shot 38.5% from the field including six of 21 from beyond the arc.  The Colonels connected on 22 of 24 free throws, pulled down 31 rebounds, and scored 14 points off 13 Belmont turnovers.

 

Craig Bradshaw led Belmont with 33 points including four three point baskets and 13 of 16 free throws.  Bradshaw pulled down nine rebounds, and dished out five assists.  Evan Bradds added 18 points and 11 rebounds.  6-8 Jr. Nick Smith recorded 13 points including three three point baskets.  Austin Luke dished out eight assists.

 

Nick Mayo led Eastern Kentucky with 19 points, seven rebounds, and three steals.  Jarelle Reischel added 19 points including three three point baskets and six rebounds.  6-5 Jr. Javontae Hawkins recorded 19 points including nine of nine free throws and seven rebounds.  6-1 So. Paul Jackson chipped in with eight points, four rebounds, and four assists.
