Methodist vs. Sewanee

 

Methodist coach DeeDee Jarman started the following lineup: 5-8 Sr. Jalisia Campbell, 5-8 So. Kaneya Chambers, 6-2 Fr. Shelly McDonald, 5-5 Christian Sanders, and 5-6 So. Lillian Geehring.  Sewanee coach Dickie McCarthy countered with 5-8 So. Corey Caulder, 5-7 Jr. Hannah McCormack, 5-8 Sr. Savannah Rose, 5-3 So. Sue Kim, and 5-6 So. Bella Taylor.

 

Sewanee tallied 15 three point baskets today in an 87-71 victory over Methodist.  Sewanee shot 46.5% from the field including 15 of 38 from the three point line.  The Tigers connected on six of 11 from the free throw line, pulled down 35 rebounds, and scored 18 points off 19 Methodist turnovers.  Methodist shot 44.6% from the field including five of 17 from beyond the arc.  The Monarchs connected on 16 of 23 free throws, pulled down 32 rebounds, and scored 15 points off 13 Sewanee turnovers.

 

Bella Taylor led Sewanee with 30 points including six three point baskets, four assists, and five steals.  Hannah McCormack added 16 points and five rebounds.  Corey Caulder chipped in with 12 points on four three point baskets and five rebounds.  Sue Kim recorded 11 points and 10 assists.  6-0 Fr. Allison Hitchcock also reached double figures with 11 points, eight rebounds, and five assists.

 

Jalisia Campbell led Methodist with 21 points and four assists.  Christian Sanders, Kaneya Chambers, and 5-11 Fr. Amber Scott each scored 10 points.  Shelly McDonald chipped in with nine points.
