Pulaski County vs. Madison Central (Girls)

Pulaski County coach Tarah Muntz started the following lineup: 5-9 Fr. Haley Brock, 5-5 Sr. Jeriah Privett, 5-9 Sr. Brooklyn Snow, 5-3 Sr. Kyra Eads, and 5-3 Sr. Mackenzie McCollum.  Madison Central coach Robert Cooksey countered with 5-10 Sr. Charity Mack, 5-10 Sr. Lindsey Johns, 6-0 Sr. Mallie Cornett, 5-4 Jr. Bailee Vanover, and 5-7 Sr. Kasi Schneid.

 

Pulaski County buoyed by 13 three point baskets defeated Madison Central by a score of 64-53.  The Maroons came out sizzling from long range connecting on 11 of 18 from beyond the arc in the first half to lead 35-28 at the intermission.  Madison Central cut the margin down in the second half but could never catch up.  Pulaski County hit free throws late to increase the margin to the final score.  Pulaski County shot 39.1% from the field including 13 of 27 from the three point line.  The Maroons connected on 15 of 21 free throws, pulled down 29 rebounds, and scored 19 points off 23 Madison central turnovers.  Madison Central shot 47.4% from the field including two of eight from beyond the arc.  The Indians connected on 15 of 23 free throws, pulled down 25 rebounds, and scored 23 points off 21 Pulaski County turnovers.

 

Jeriah Privett led Pulaski County with 21 points including six three point baskets, five rebounds, and seven assists.  Kyra Eads added 12 points including two three point baskets and six steals.  Mackenzie McCollum chipped in with 11 points including two three point baskets.  5-5 Fr. Jenna Wood came off the bench to add eight points including two three point baskets.  Coach Muntz was able to substitute players in and out with seven players logging between 11:43 and 31:00 minutes.

 

Mallie Cornett led Madison Central with 16 points including eight of nine free throws and five blocked shots.  Lindsey Johns added 14 points, five rebounds, and five steals.  Bailee Vanover chipped in with 13 points.  Charity Mack recorded four points, 11 rebounds, eight assists, and four steals.  Kasi Schneid added six points and four steals.  The “iron five” Mack, Johns, Cornett, Vanover, and Schneid recorded between 29:24 and 32:00 minutes tonight.
