SIUE coach Jon Harris started the following lineup: 6-6 Jr. Keenan Simmons, 6-4 So. Carlos Anderson, 6-8 Jr. Jalen Henry, 6-2 Fr. Christian Ellis, and 6-4 Sr. Burak Eslik.  Eastern Kentucky coach Dan McHale countered with 6-6 Fr. Deandre Dishman, 6-7 Jr. Zach Charles, 6-9 So. Nick Mayo, 5-11 Fr. Asante Gist, and 6-2 Sr. Isaac McGlone.

Eastern Kentucky defeated Southern Illinois University Edwardsville by a score of 78-61.  EKU shot 50.9% from the field including zero of 15 from the three point line.  The Colonels connected on 20 of 24 free throws, pulled down 42 rebounds, and scored 13 points off 10 SIUE turnovers.  EKU held a 54-8 advantage in points in the paint.  SIUE shot 29.6% from the field including seven of 25 from beyond the arc.  The Cougars connected on 22 of 29 free throws, pulled down 33 rebounds, and scored 10 points off nine EKU turnovers.

Asante Gist led Eastern Kentucky with 25 points including 13 of 14 free throws and six assists.  Nick Mayo added 16 points, seven rebounds, and three blocked shots.  Zach Charles chipped in with 10 points and five rebounds.  Deandre Dishman recorded eight points and six rebounds.  Isaac McGlone added eight points and four assists and 6-6 Fr. Marlon Adams recorded seven points and seven rebounds.

6-5 So. Tre Harris led SIUE with 21 points including four three point baskets.  Burak Eslik added 13 points including three three point baskets and six rebounds.  Carlos Anderson recorded eight points and six rebounds.
