Tennessee State University coach Dana Ford started the following lineup: 6-7 Sr. Wayne Martin, 6-5 Sr. Tahjere McCall, 6-9 So. Christian Mekowulu, 6-4 Sr. Jordan Reed, and 6-4 Jr. Darreon Reddick.  Eastern Kentucky University coach Dan McHale countered with 6-7 Jr. Zach Charles, 6-6 Fr. Marlon Adams, 6-9 So. Nick Mayo, 5-11 Fr. Asante Gist, and 6-0 Jr. Dillon Avare.  (6-2 Sr. Isaac McGlone was unable to play tonight due to an injury).

 

Tennessee State defeated Eastern Kentucky by a score of 63-49.  Tennessee State shot 36.5% from the field including eight of 20 from the three point line.  They connected on nine of 13 free throws, pulled down 46 rebounds, and scored 13 points off 13 Eastern Kentucky turnovers.  Eastern Kentucky shot 34% from the field including five of 26 from beyond the arc.  The Colonels connected on eight of 20 free throws, pulled down 37 rebounds, and scored 12 points off 10 Tennessee State turnovers.

 

Wayne Martin led Tennessee State with 14 points and 17 rebounds.  6-3 Jr. Delano Spencer added 12 points on four three point baskets.  Tahjere McCall recorded 10 points, four rebounds, seven assists, and three steals.  Darreon Reddick chipped in with nine points and three assists.  Jordan Reed added six points and seven rebounds.  6-9 Jr. Ken’Darrius Hamilton recorded six points, seven rebounds, and three steals.

 

Asante Gist led Eastern Kentucky with 17 points including two three point baskets and three assists.  Nick Mayo added 15 points, five rebounds, and three blocked shots.  Zach Charles recorded six points, 11 rebounds, and two blocked shots.  6-6 Fr. Deandre Dishman pulled down nine rebounds.
