Eastern Kentucky University coach Dan McHale started the following lineup: 6-7 Jr. Zach Charles, 6-6 Fr. Marlon Adams, 6-9 So. Nick Mayo, 5-11 Fr. Asante Gist, and 6-2 Sr. Isaac McGlone.  Jacksonville State University coach Ray Harper countered with 6-7 So. Christian Cunningham, 6-4 Sr. Erik Durham, 6-8 Fr. Jacara Cross, 6-2 Jr. Malcol Drumwright, and 6-2 Sr. Greg Tucker.

Eastern Kentucky “gutted out” a tough 57-52 road win over Jacksonville State.  Eastern Kentucky shot 39.6% from the field including two of 15 from the three point line.  The Colonels connected on 17 of 25 free throws, pulled down 41 rebounds, and scored 15 points off 19 Jacksonville State turnovers.  Jacksonville State shot 30% from the field including four of 19 from beyond the arc.  The Gamecocks connected on 12 of 16 free throws, pulled down 38 rebounds, and scored 15 points off 21 Eastern Kentucky turnovers.

Nick Mayo led Eastern Kentucky with 19 points, eight rebounds, and seven blocked shots.  Asante Gist added 13 points and Zach Charles recorded 11 points, six rebounds, and two blocked shots.  Marlon Adams chipped in with eight points, seven rebounds, and two blocked shots.  6-6 Fr. DeAndre Dishman pulled down eight rebounds and blocked two shots. 

Jacara Cross led Jacksonville State with 12 points.  Christian Cunningham added 11 points, 15 rebounds, and two blocked shots.
