Madison Central vs. Franklin County (Girls)

Madison Central coach Robert Cooksey started the following lineup: 5-10 Sr. Lindsey Johns, 5-10 Sr. Charity Mack, 6-0 Sr. Mallie Cornett, 5-4 Jr. Bailee Vanover, and 5-7 Sr. Kasi Schneid.  Franklin County coach Joey Thacker countered with 5-10 Sr. Rebecca Cook, 5-6 Sr. Savannah Courtney, 5-8 So. Samareah Levarity, 5-5 Jr. Kindall Talley, and 5-8 Sr. Princess Stewart.

 

Franklin County led 27-25 at halftime and outscored Madison Central 16-2 in the third quarter on their way to a 59-33 victory.  Madison Central only shot 17.6% from the field (3-17) in the second half.  Franklin County shot 40.3% from the field including five of 18 from the three point line.  The Lady Flyers connected on four of five free throws, pulled down 35 rebounds, and scored 22 points off 18 Madison Central turnovers.  Madison Central shot 33.3% from the field including four of 13 from beyond the arc.  The Indians connected on five of nine free throws, pulled down 29 rebounds, and scored six points off five Franklin County turnovers.

 

Princess Stewart led Franklin County with 16 points, 12 rebounds, five assists, and three steals.  Rebecca Cook added 14 points, 10 rebounds, five assists, and four steals.  Kindall Talley added 11 points including three three point baskets and three steals.  5-4 8th Grade Brooklynn Miles recorded nine points and four steals.

 

Mallie Cornett led Madison Central with 14 points, 11 rebounds, and five blocked shots.  Kasi Schneid added 13 points including three three point baskets and seven rebounds.  Bailee Vanover chipped in with six points.
