Morehead State University coach Greg Todd started the following lineup: 5-10 Jr. Eriel McKee, 5-8 So. Miranda Crockett, 6-2 Sr. Shay Steele, 5-4 So. Darianne Seward, and 5-8 Sr. Aaliyah Wells.  Eastern Kentucky University coach Chrissy Roberts countered with 6-1 Sr. Jalen O’Bannon, 5-11 Sr. Shavontae Naylor, 6-3 Jr. Madison Wood, 5-5 Sr. Mariah Massengill, and 5-8 Sr. Alexus Cooper.

Eastern Kentucky University led 36-21 at halftime and held off Morehead State down the stretch for a 65-58 upset victory.  Eastern Kentucky shot 36.2% from the field including five of 11 from the three point line.  The Colonels connected on 18 of 26 free throws, pulled down 47 rebounds, and scored 17 points off 15 Morehead State turnovers.  Morehead State shot 28.6% from the field including three of 15 from beyond the arc.  The Eagles connected on 19 of 24 free throws, pulled down 31 rebounds, and scored 14 points off 15 Eastern Kentucky turnovers.

Shavontae Naylor led Eastern Kentucky with 21 points and nine rebounds.  Alexus Cooper added 16 points, three rebounds, and four assists.  Mariah Massengill recorded 15 points including four three point baskets, nine rebounds, and six assists.  Jalen O’Bannon chipped in with 11 points and four rebounds.  Madison Wood pulled down 10 rebounds, and blocked three shots.

5-3 Sr. Brianna McQueen led Morehead State with 24 points including 10 of 10 free throws.  Shay Steele added 11 points.  Eriel McKee recorded seven points, six rebounds, and three assists.
