Eastern Kentucky University coach Chrissy Roberts started the following lineup: 5-11 Sr. Shavontae Naylor, 5-10 Sr. Zee Willix, 6-3 Jr. Madison Wood, 5-5 Sr. Mariah Massengill, and 5-8 Sr. Alexus Cooper.  Jacksonville State University coach Rick Pietri countered with 6-1 Jr. Tyler Phelion, 5-9 Sr. Briana Benson, 6-1 Jr. Tasha Magruder, 5-3 Sr. Lacey Buchanon, and 5-7 Sr. Kelly Naughton.

Eastern Kentucky University raced out to a 35-23 halftime lead but Jacksonville State roared back to earn a 71-61 victory.  The score was tied five times and there were five lead changes in this game.  Jacksonville State shot 36.7% from the field including six of 16 from the three point line.  They connected on 21 of 23 free throws, pulled down 44 rebounds, and scored 16 points off 10 Eastern Kentucky turnovers.  Eastern Kentucky shot 41.4% from the field including seven of 17 from beyond the arc.  The Colonels connected on six of eight free throws, pulled down 30 rebounds, and scored five points off six Jacksonville State turnovers.

Lacey Buchanon led Jacksonville State with 19 points including six of six free throws.  Briana Benson added 17 points including seven of seven free throws, three rebounds, and three steals.  Tyler Phelion recorded 12 points, 12 rebounds, and two blocked shots.  5-8 Jr. Gretchen Morrison chipped in with 11 points including three three point baskets.  6-1 So. Rayven Pearson added eight points and 10 rebounds.  Tasha Magruder pulled down 11 rebounds and blocked two shots. 

Shavontae Naylor led Eastern Kentucky with 20 points and six rebounds.  Alexus Cooper added 12 points on four three point baskets.  Jalen O’Bannon chipped in with 10 points.  Zee Willix pulled down seven rebounds.  5-11 So. Abby Wright added 10 points including two three point baskets and three rebounds.  Mariah Massengill recorded six points and five assists.
