Paul Laurence Dunbar coach Nick Runyon started the following lineup: 5-11 Sr. Autumn Herriford, 5-8 So. Cheyenne Fullwood, 5-9 Jr. Peyton Humphreys, 5-5 Jr. Mashayla Cecil, and 5-7 Jr. Anaiyah Cotton.  Madison Central coach Robert Cooksey countered with 5-10 Sr. Lindsey Johns, 5-10 Sr. Charity Mack, 6-0 Sr. Mallie Cornett, 5-5 Jr. Bailee Vanover, and 5-8 Sr. Kasi Schneid.

 

Madison Central trailed 45-41 with a little over three minutes left in the game but finished the game on an 11-4 run to defeat Dunbar by a score of 52-49.  Kasi Schneid was 0-8 from the field until the final minutes but hit two big field goals and Lindsey Johns connected on two free throws with 21 seconds to give the Lady Indians a 52-49 lead.  Bailee Vanover applied tenacious on ball defense to deny Dunbar a good look at the basket in the closing seconds.  The score was tied six times and there were 13 lead changes in this game.

 

Madison Central shot 39.5% from the field including two of 11 from the three point line.  The Lady Indians connected on a superb 16 of 19 free throws, pulled down 36 rebounds, and scored six points off four Dunbar turnovers.  Dunbar shot 37.5% from the field including seven of 20 from beyond the arc.  The Lady Bulldogs connected on six of seven free throws, pulled down 22 rebounds, and scored 15 points off nine Madison Central turnovers.

 

Lindsey Johns led Madison Central with 22 points including eight of nine free throws and five rebounds.  Bailee Vanover added 11 points and five rebounds.  Mallie Cornett recorded eight points, 11 rebounds, three assists, and three blocked shots despite being saddled with four personal fouls.  Charity Mack chipped in with six points, five rebounds, and three assists.  Kasi Schneid added five points, seven rebounds, and two assists.

 

Autumn Herriford led Dunbar with 16 points including four three point baskets, three rebounds, and six assists.  Anaiyah Cotton added 14 points, seven rebounds, and three assists.  Mashayla Cecil recorded 11 points including three three point baskets.  Peyton Humphreys chipped in with six points.
