Eastern Washington University coach Shantay Legans started the following lineup: 6-6 Sr. Bogdan Bliznyuk, 6-6 So. Luka Vulikic, 7-0 Sr. Benas Griciunas, 6-3 Jr. Ty Gibson, and 6-3 Sr. Sir Washington.  Eastern Kentucky University coach Dan McHale countered with 6-8 Jr. Jackson Davis, 6-6 So. DeAndre Dishman, 6-9 Jr. Nick Mayo, 6-5 Fr. Peyton Broughton, and 6-4 Fr. Dedric Boyd.

 

A disastrous first half proved to be the downfall for Eastern Kentucky as they trailed 39-16 at halftime in an 83-62 loss to Eastern Washington University.  Eastern Kentucky took an 11-9 lead but both Nick Mayo and Dedric Boyd went to the bench with foul woes and Eastern Washington University went on a 21-0 run to take control of the game.  Eastern Kentucky continues with turnovers as Dujuanta Weaver and Asante Gist their top two point guards are out with injuries.  The Colonels committed 18 turnovers today and were only six of 25 from the field in the first half.

 

Eastern Washington University shot 43.3% from the field including 11 of 30 from the three point line.  They connected on 20 of 28 free throws, pulled down 36 rebounds, and committed nine turnovers.  Eastern Kentucky shot 34.5% from the field including three of 13 from beyond the arc.  The Colonels connected on 21 of 30 free throws, pulled down 42 rebounds, and committed 18 turnovers.

 

Benas Griciunas led a balanced Eastern Washington University attack with 16 points including two three point baskets and five rebounds.  Bogdan Bliznyuk added 13 points, five assists, and four rebounds.  6-4 Jr. Cody Benzel recorded 11 points including three three point baskets.  6-8 Fr. Richard Polanco also scored 11 points.

 

Nick Mayo led Eastern Kentucky with 17 points and six rebounds.  Dedric Boyd added 14 points and four rebounds.  DeAndre Dishman recorded 11 points and six rebounds.  Jackson Davis pulled down a game high nine rebounds.
