Madison Central coach Robert Cooksey started the following lineup: 5-7 So. Taleya Todd, 5-7 Sr. Blaze Pacheco, 5-10 So. Je’Kauri McKeithen, 5-5 Sr. Bailey Vanover, and 5-6 Jr. Madison Barnard.  George Rogers Clark coach Robbie Graham countered with 5-10 Jr. Hayley Harrison, 5-10 Jr. Maleaha Bell, 5-9 Sr. Shemaya Behanan, 5-7 So. Kennedy Igo, and 5-9 Jr. Jasmine Flowers.

 

George Rogers Clark’s aggressive, trapping defense proved to be too much for Madison Central tonight as the Cardinals recorded 17 steals and scored 28 points off 26 Madison Central turnovers in a 70-39 victory.  GRC shot 44.4% from the field including seven of 20 from the three point line.  The Cardinals connected on seven of 13 free throws and pulled down 35 rebounds.  Madison Central shot 32.1% from the field including zero of two from beyond the arc.  The Indians connected on 21 of 27 free throws, pulled down 22 rebounds, and scored nine points off 13 GRC’s turnovers.  Madison Central attempted 28 shots from the field compared to 63 points for GRC.

 

Kennedy Igo led George Rogers Clark with 18 points including five three point baskets,  and five assists.  Maleaha Bell added 12 points, five rebounds, and four assists.  Shemaya Behanan recorded 10 points and six rebounds.  Haley Harrison chipped in with eight points, three rebounds, two assists, and five steals.  5-7 So. Shelbi Wilson added eight points and three steals.

 

Taleya Todd led Madison Central with 13 points including nine of 11 free throws.  Bailey Vanover added six points.  Je’Kauri McKeithen pulled down seven rebounds.
