Woodford County vs. Madison Central (Girls)

Elite Insurance Solutions Lady Lions Classic

Woodford County coach Steve Jaco started the following lineup: 6-1 So. Kayla Harlow, 5-11 Jr. Nia Jaco, 6-0 So. Delaney Enlow, 5-4 Jr. Anna Manges, and 5-7 So. Abby Moffett.  (Woodford County is without two key guards who suffered concussions in a recent tournament in Tennessee).  Madison Central coach Robert Cooksey countered with 5-7 Sr. Blaze Pacheco, 5-7 So. Taleya Todd, 5-10 So. Je’Kauri McKeithen, 5-5 Sr. Bailey Vanover, and 5-6 Jr. Madison Barnard.

 

Madison Central was able to record 17 steals and scored 27 points off 30 Woodford County turnovers but had absolutely no answer for Woodford County’s potent low-high post offense in a 66-53 loss to the Yellow Jackets.  Delaney Enlow and Kayla Harlow combined for 41 points, 25 rebounds, and six blocked shots to dominate in the paint.  There were six lead changes and four ties in this game.  Woodford County pulled away in the final quarter for the victory.

 

Woodford County shot 62.8% from the field including on of three from the three point line.  The Yellow Jackets connected on 11 of 15 free throws, pulled down 43 rebounds, and scored eight points off 11 Madison Central turnovers.  Madison Central shot 28.1% from the field including seven of 25 from beyond the arc.  The Indians connected on 10 of 11 free throws, pulled down 23 rebounds, and scored 27 points off 30 Woodford County turnovers.

 

Delaney Enlow led Woodford County with 21 points, 17 rebounds, six assists, and six blocked shots.  Enlow was eight of nine from the field and five of seven from the free throw line.  Kayla Harlow added 20 points and eight rebounds.  Anna Manges recorded nine points and seven assists and Nia Jaco pulled down seven rebounds.

 

Blaze Pacheco led Madison Central with 14 points including four three point baskets and three steals.  Taleya Todd added 13 points including two three point baskets and three steals.  Je’Kauri McKeithen recorded eight points, 11 rebounds, and three assists.  Bailey Vanover added eight points, five rebounds, four assists, and six steals.
