Tennessee Tech coach Kim Rosamond started the following lineup:  5-11 Sr. Yaktavia Hickson, 6-0 Sr. Asia Harper, 6-3 Fr. MacKenzie Coleman, 5-7 Fr. Jordan Brock, and 5-7 So. Akia Harris.  Eastern Kentucky University coach Chrissy Roberts countered with 5-11 Jr. Abby Wright, 5-11 Fr. Bria Bass, 6-2 Jr. Madison Pierce, 5-8 Jr. A’Queen Hayes, and 5-8 So. Shay Solomon.

 

Eastern Kentucky University defeated Tennessee tech by a score of 55-53 in a game that had four ties and six lead changes.  Jordan Brock tied the game at 53-53 with a three point basket with four seconds left on the clock.  Eastern Kentucky got a timeout with two seconds remaining and Shay Solomon hit A’Queen Hayes with a perfect high lob bass under the basket and Hayes laid the ball in at the buzzer for the win.

 

Eastern Kentucky shot 42.6% from the field including two of 11 from the three point line.  The Colonels connected on seven of 10 free throws, pulled down 35 rebounds, and scored 11 points off 13 Tennessee Tech turnovers.  Tennessee Tech shot 42% from the field including six of 15 from beyond the arc.  The Golden Eagles connected on five of 10 free throws, pulled down 29 rebounds, and scored 10 points off 12 Eastern Kentucky turnovers.

 

A’Queen Hayes led Eastern Kentucky with 19 points, 10 rebounds, and four assists.  Bria Bass added 13 points and five rebounds.  Abby Wright recorded 10 points and six rebounds.

 

Jordan Brock led Tennessee Tech with 14 points including three three point baskets.  Akia Harris added 10 points and six assists.  Yaktavia Hickson recorded nine points, six rebounds, and three assists.
