Madison Central vs. Collins (Girls)

Madison Central coach Robert Cooksey started the following lineup: 5-7 So. Taleya Todd. 5-6 Sr. Eliza Minter, 5-10 So. Je’Kauri McKeithen, 5-5 Sr. Bailey Vanover, and 5-6 Jr. Madison Barnard.  Collins coach Sean Pigman countered with 5-9 Jr. Jeian Hayes, 5-8 So. Olivia Federle, 6-2 Jr. Mary-Clare Megibben, 5-7 Sr. Hannah Cleary, and 5-7 Sr. Hallie Renfro.

 

Madison Central’s Je’Kauri McKeithen hit two free throws down the stretch and the Indians held on for a 42-41 victory over Collins.  There were seven lead changes and six ties in the game.  Madison Central shot 32% from the field including four of 10 from the three point line.  The Indians connected on six of 12 free throws, pulled down 38 rebounds, and scored nine points off 16 Collins turnovers.  Collins shot 38.1% from the field including five of 20 from beyond the arc.  The Lady Titans connected on four of eight free throws, pulled down 29 rebounds, and scored two points off 16 Madison Central turnovers.

 

Taleya Todd led Madison Central with 13 points including three three point baskets.  Je’Kauri McKeithen added 12 points and 14 rebounds.  Bailey Vanover recorded 10 points and nine rebounds.

 

Jeian Hayes led Collins with 13 points including two three point baskets.  Olivia Federle added 10 points including two three point baskets and five rebounds.  Hallie Renfro chipped in with eight points.  Mary-Clare Megibben recorded six points, 14 rebounds, and right blocked shots.
