Morehead State coach Preston Spradlin started the following lineup: 6-7 So. Londell King, 6-3 So. Djimon Henson, 6-7 Fr. Malek Green, 6-0 Jr. AJ Hicks, and 6-0 So. Jordan Walker.  Eastern Kentucky University coach Dan McHale countered with 6-7 Sr. Zach Charles, 6-6 So. DeAndre Dishman, 6-9 Jr. Nick Mayo, 5-10 So. DuJuanta Weaver, and 6-2 Fr. JacQuess Hobbs.

 

JacQuess Hobbs went coast-to-coast in the closing seconds to hit the basket that gave Eastern Kentucky University a 75-73 come-from-behind victory over Morehead State.  The score was tied six times and there were eight lead changes in this game.  Eastern Kentucky University shot 45.3% from the field including eight of 20 from the three point line.  The Colonels connected on 19 of 27 free throws, pulled down 32 rebounds, and scored 22 points off 16 Morehead State turnovers.  Morehead State shot 46% from the field including eight of 16 from beyond the arc.  The Eagles connected on 19 of 29 free throws, pulled down 28 rebounds, and scored 14 points off Eastern Kentucky turnovers.

 

Nick Mayo led Eastern Kentucky with 18 points including two three point baskets, five rebounds, and four blocked shots.  Zach Charles added 15 points and seven rebounds.  Charles was six of six from the field and three of three from the free throw line.  JacQuess Hobbs also scored 15 points including two three point baskets and five assists.  DeAndre Dishman chipped in with 13 points and nine rebounds.  6-5 Fr. Peyton Broughton added eight points including two three point baskets.  DuJuanta Weaver recorded six points, five rebounds, five assists, and three steals.

 

Jordan Walker led Morehead State with 16 points including nine of 12 free throws, four assists, and three steals.  AJ Hicks added 15 points including six of seven free throws and four assists.  6-4 Fr. De’Von Cooper recorded 13 points including three three point baskets.  Malek Green chipped in with 10 points and six rebounds.
