USC Upstate coach Dave Dickerson started the following lineup: 6-7 Fr. Josh Aldrich, 6-6 Sr. Malik Moore, 6-9 Fr. Nevin Zink, 6-2 Sr. Deion Holmes, and 6-4 Sr. Jure Span.  Eastern Kentucky University coach A.W. Hamilton countered with 6-8 Jr. Lachlan Anderson, 6-5 So. Peyton Broughton, 6-9 Sr. Nick Mayo, 5-10 Jr. Dujuanta Weaver, and 6-2 Jr. Kelvin Robinson.

 

Eastern Kentucky University led by 14 points with 13:49 to go in the game but had to withstand a rally by USC Upstate to capture a 79-77 victory.  Kelvin Robinson made a key defensive deflection with 3.5 seconds remaining in the game.  USC Upstate retained the ball with 0.3 seconds remaining but could not get off a shot.  Eastern Kentucky shot 35.5% from the field including nine of 26 from the three point line.  The Colonels connected on 16 of 21 free throws, pulled down 42 rebounds, and scored 29 points off 26 USC Upstate turnovers.

 

Nick Mayo led Eastern Kentucky with 14 points, seven rebounds, and four blocks.  Lachlan Anderson added 12 points, seven rebounds, and three blocked shots.  Dujuanta Weaver recorded 12 points on four three point baskets, six rebounds, and four assists.  Peyton Broughton and Kelvin Robinson each scored nine points.  6-2 So.  JacQuess Hobbs added six points, eight rebounds, three assists, and five steals.

 

Malik Moore led USC Upstate with 32 points including four three point baskets and 10 rebounds.  Moore was 12 of 16 from the field including four of seven from beyond the arc, and four of six free throws.  Nevin Zink added 10 points and eight rebounds.  Josh Aldrich recorded eight points, three rebounds, and two blocked shots.
