Eastern Kentucky University coach Chrissy Roberts started the following lineup: 5-11 Sr. Abby Wright, 5-11 So. Bria Bass, 6-2 Sr. Madison Pierce, 5-6 So. Teri Goodlett, and 5-8 Jr. Shay Solomon.  West Virginia University coach Mike Carey countered with 6-0 Sr. Naomi Davenport, 5-11 Jr. Tynice Martin, 6-6 Sr. Theresa Ekhelar, 5-5 Fr. Madisen Smith, and 5-9 Sr. Katrina Pardee.

 

West Virginia dominated today in a 78-29 victory over Eastern Kentucky University.  West Virginia shot 47.4% from the field including nine of 21 from the three point line.  The Mountaineers connected on 15 of 21 free throws, pulled down 46 rebounds, and scored 28 points off 20 Eastern Kentucky University turnovers.  Eastern Kentucky University shot 20% from the field including four of 18 from beyond the arc.  The Colonels connected on three of 14 free throws, pulled down 37 rebounds, and scored six points off 13 West Virginia turnovers.

 

6-1 Fr. Kari Niblack led West Virginia with 18 points, 12 rebounds, and four blocked shots.  Naomi Davenport added 16 points including two three point baskets, four rebounds, and four assists.  Tynice Martin recorded 14 points including two three point baskets, seven rebounds, and three assists.  Madisen Smith chipped in with 10 points including two three point baskets, six assists, and two steals.  Theresa Ekhelar added five points, eight rebounds, and two blocked shots.

 

Shay Solomon led Eastern Kentucky University with 14 points and five rebounds.  6-0 Jr. Catie Kaifes added four points and eight rebounds.
