Garrard County vs. Madison Central (Girls)

Garrard County coach Jared Prewitt started the following lineup: 5-8 So. Morgan Day, 5-6 Jr. Madisyn Neeley, 5-9 Fr. Jade Pevley, 5-5 Fr. Jaden Naylor, and 5-7 Jr. Brittany Butner.  Madison Central coach Robert Cooksey countered with 5-10 Jr. Jekauri McKeithen, 5-7 Jr. Taleya Todd, 5-9 Sr. Logan Hudson, 5-6 Sr. Kelsey Powell, and 5-6 Sr. Madison Barnard.

 

The third quarter proved to be the downfall for Garrard County as Madison Central outscored the Golden Lions 22-6 in the quarter on their way to a 60-42 victory.  The score was tied four times and there were five lead changes in the game.  Madison Central shot 41.8% from the field including six of 12 from the three point line.  The Lady Indians connected on eight of 12 free throws, pulled down 35 rebounds, and scored 16 points off 29 Garrard County turnovers.  Garrard County shot 29.5% from the field including seven of 23 from beyond the arc.  The Golden Lions connected on nine of 22 free throws, pulled down 38 rebounds, and scored 19 points off 23 Madison Central turnovers.

 

Taleya Todd led Madison Central with 23 points including four three point baskets, two rebounds, two assists, four blocked shots, and five steals.  Jekauri McKeithen added 16 points, 18 rebounds, three assists, two blocked shots, and three steals.  Madison Barnard recorded eight points, four rebounds, four assists, and three steals.

 

Brittany Butner led Garrard County with 13 points including four three point baskets, five rebounds, and two steals.  Madisyn Neeley added 10 points including two three point baskets, three rebounds, and two steals.  Jade Pevley recorded nine points, 13 rebounds, and five steals.  5-10 So. Hallie Martin added five points and nine rebounds.
